Final Countdown - Online Support Team For those too far from a drop, or unable to get to one I figured I'd make a place for people to coordinate how they can keep in touch with the teams on the ground. We should have some folks in IRC, and it might help if a given team had a specific online contact via IM or Twitter or some such to provide extended online help. The FL call to action said we would need both, and we need to establish a good basis for communication.

I have made an account for the San Diego group, FlynnLives_SD. We plan on using this to post on Wednesday. I just wanted to get it out there. Smile

Is it possible to follow/participate in IRC chat via smartphone? I run Android and it would be nice to have a connection to Unfiction while on the ground (since the forum doesn't work on my phone).
Edit: I realize my wording is poor here, I meant have other Android users been able to use the FL IRC on their phones without issue. Like I said, the forum crashes my phone's browser so I don't want to assume the IRC will work flawlessly.

If there is one in Miami, the only way I'll be a road operative is if it's relatively near me. I doubt that will be the case.
So I will be online for whatever is needed.

For IRC on iPhone, I'd recommend trying out the "Rooms" app - multitasks and keeps active, push notifications and all. Very nice.
I've set up a page to access the #flynnlives chat via web and my live Toronto feed for tomorrow once it's active, at
http://4dfiction.com/live?go=digitalpulse
As mentioned elsewhere, there is a dedicated chat room the contents of which are shown on the iphone screen, but the broadcaster doesn't allow in-chat text responses, so make sure your volume's up =) I can read text, and respond vocally.
Being on iPhone, hopefully there will be enough battery for the stream, and hopefully I'll be able to keep it going with minimal interruption (the ustream app stops the broadcast if an iphone notification pops up, which is really dumb).
I may turn off notifications entirely, which means any incoming tweets or txts may not get received. Best to post it in the ustream chatroom. Otherwise, I'll stop and restart the stream.
It really is pretty sweet to broadcast a live A/V stream from a mobile phone
And once again, this presumes it'll be an event worth broadcasting we'll see at 11amE I guess.

Got the day shift off tomorrow due to IMAX techs coming in from Canada to service the projector so I'll be free all day to help out online. Hopefully there will be a good balance of excitement between the ground forces & for those of us not lucky enough to be in one of the chosen cities.

We might need a keyboard op for the SF team, anyone want to help out?
Our SF thread is all people that are going to be on the ground. We still need someone at a computer to update our twitter account with any updates or news from the web. We're using that to blast updates to everyone's phones.
