Now with the cd being found on the third floor in Science of Illusions, do these two have anything to do with each other? Don't know...also
Melchizedek = King of Salem in Abraham's time. Abraham pays tithes (one tenth of everything). Melchizedek is a priest of 'god most high' and blesses Abraham by saying 'blessed be Abram by god most high, maker of heaven and earth, and blessed be god most high, who has delivered our enemies into your hand.
Matsu might refer to a taiwanese island that was bombarded by the Chinese (1958) and then subsequently rescued by the US 7th Fleet. Civilian rule was restored in '93. (but I'm not sure if there's a different reference) Kaysan might refer to a sect of Islam - whose leader, early on, was killed along with many of his supporters. Jericho likely refers to the ancient city that was surrounded by thick walls, destroyed, rebuilt, and destroyed again.
Therevada is a branch of Buddism that rejects the notion of a supreme being/creator god and notes that Buddha was human - a fully enlightened or 'awakened' being. Part of the path to salvation includes that a person 'must extinguish the belief in a separate self that give rise to cravings, desires, and attachments.' Unenlightenment = suffering.
Lucifer - well, the devil, right? But there was also a book published by Howard Bloom called 'The Lucifer Principle' that argues "evil" is a by-product of nature's strategies for creation and is woven into our most basic biological fabric.
Does the photo and the book the cd was found in have a link? Possibly. But the movies were rife with cultural/philosophical references. The link I suppose you could draw is a grouping of a king/priest, historical places/people that were destroyed or nearly destroyed, a reference to a religion that recognizes a fully awakened person, and a possible reference to a book that raises questions about the nature of evil as being a natural balance to the world...
...and the science of illusion might be tied in as..hmm..I don't know. If the first group is references to the movie, and the idea of being plugged into the matrix, the science of illusion might continue that theme...the science of the illusion of life IN the matrix.
Don't know if it has anything to do with this ARG or if it's just an interesting sidebar, tho.

I think it was confirmed in another thread that it is Seattle, Washington: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=27114#27114

Me thinks that the CD at Cyberia Chicago, the Indy library, and the other library are already replaced...
Obviously, there are many forums working on this, as well as possibly a few rogue individuals. Seems obvious that hte people operating the game have a handle on the forums' activities, and could easily run over to replace a "found" CD...

It would be interesting to confirm that. Heh, I don't suppose anyone wants to go over to one of those places to see if there is another disk? Cyberia might be the best bet since it was found first, and the PMs should definitely know by now...especially if the guy who gave out the disk was one of them. Anyone in Chicago want to take a look? It's not that important, but could be interesting...

I don't think so... There may be one or two other forums that are as "intense" as this one, but I doubt it. I've searched for all kinds of links to this game trying to possibly find other related websites and forums, etc, and inevitably I eventually end up back here by some means or another.
I think that if there's anyone out there that's really into this game enough to go out and find these CDs, then they've been here already.
This seems to be the "root" of players for this game. In fact, at this point, I can't even find another message board that's even close to being as up to date as we are here.

The following note was found in Ethan's blog in November 1st entry:

Has anyone tried mapping where all these CDs are coming from. It might be a dot-to-dot on a national scale

Picture of CD found at Mult. Co. Lib. Attached is a picture of the CD found at the Mult. Co. Lib in Portland, Oregon. Notice the CD is blank with the exception of "Emerson" written on it. Since the other CD's seem to have the brand names printed on them, perhaps someone else found the original and replaced it with a copy.
BTW, I checked thru the whole book to make sure there wasn't anything else hidden in the book like a note or something and incase someone wanted to know the title of chapter 11 was "Reference Point" iirc.

Apparently the same person did not write the name on these CDīs - as I said in the other CD-discovery thread, the name on the Cornell CD is probably written by a left handed person - this one has a name written by a "right hander", and definetely not in the same handwriting.
If the PMīs wanted us to think "Emerson" wrote on the CDīs himself, wouldnīt they have had the same guy/girl write on all of them?
In that case we will be unnecessarily confused if someone else did take the original and replaced it with this one....

Oops, I'm sorry... that's already been picked up yesterday. Is there any way you can call him off? I thought it has been mentioned in a few places... sorry...
