Don't have the attention span for many blogs so I'm only following a couple at the moment.

Musical Occurrences +1
The guy put the effort into setting up the blog and character for a while before slendy turned up so points for that. Points also for avoiding some of the clichés . The missing relative and found journal do seem a bit generic but I think it at least deserves a chance.

Something Wicked This Way Comes +1
Love the title reference. Seems a bit more psychological than horror right now so I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt at the moment in the hope that it follows this path rather than becoming formulaic. Hope there's a bit more character development and that it doesn't turn into a "on the run" blog.

Edit: Sorry forgot the others Embarassed

No escape from reality: -1,
I'd like to give it a chance but there's too little written and too little on characters for my tastes

Authroagast: -1
Not enough of a connection to reality for me. Just not believable

Smiting the gods: -1
Just can't get into it

Picking up the pieces: -1
Again, lacks character

The original Alien dude: N/A
Don't have enough internet to watch every vlog.

Hiking Friend: -1
Again too much fantasy type elements for my taste

Eh, the problem I have with this thread is that most of the blogs up for voting have only recently started; it's like reading the first few pages of a book and basing your opinion on them.

I physically can't read any of them but Musical Occurrences and Hiking Fiend. Smiting the Gods is okay but I don't like lots of tiny writing. :/ That one's more on me.

Very true. BUT! If you started reading a book, and it told you exactly what was going to happen for the next 100 pages within the first 5 pages, and without good writing, wouldn't you want to warn others not to read it? Likewise, if a book hinted at something mysterious, and built up plot really really well, wouldn't you want to tell others to read it? That's my justification for the thread. Smile

Considering the writer has no memory of who he is, isn't it a touch ironic to say it lacks character?

Unless the book I'm reading is godawful, I usually give it until the halfway mark before I make the decision to drop it. Some stories take time to get into stride; same goes for blogs. There's a few out there which didn't give me the best of impressions in their first few posts, but improved from there.

Yeah, it's ironic, though it's still true. One of the major things I look for in a blog is interesting and believable characters, supernatural amnesia is something I do not find interesting or believable.

It could get better or develop in some way, but so far I doubt it.

Then maybe the voting should be done on the blogs that have been around for longer, and not the ones that just recently popped up. Though, people you haven't been following an older blog will have a harder time getting into it to actually vote on it.

Though, Outcast might be prime for voting either way, as its first post contains the line "In the end, i became so depressed i started cutting myself. I have since stopped, only doing it ever now and then to relieve stress. Currently, i have a smiley face [ =) ] carved into the top of my left hand.Sharpie covers it nicely, and it looks like a regular drawing."

That is just great.

OT for a moment, but, dude, not funny. I have friends who are self-harming and was suicidal for a good chunk of time. That is not something to joke about.[/i]

Updating in a sec. I've realized that some blogs aren't really Slanderblogs, even if they aren't people's tastes. So I'm going to make a separate category for the worst of the worst: The Hall of Shame. Currently holding nothing. I really want to give NEFR a chance.
