Both Slendy and Totheark have proven themselves more than capable of messing with electronics and accounts. Totheark just seems to make it... intelligible.

I doubt that J's gone masky, I think that maskyism is limited to Brian only (who, through multiple watchings of MH, I had ultimately concluded was Totheark. Might be wrong, but the jackets match, among other things).
