So I extracted the new TROGL/classics illustrated picture from the Flash file and guess what. It has GPS coordinates.
N 34 1.14 W 118 28.91
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&q=N%2034%201.14%20W%20118%2028.91&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl
There is a post-production company: The Digital Difference
And also a multimedia company called The Biz, but I can find no real info in it other than a possible address: 1225 Olympic Blvd.,
Santa Monica , CA 90404

ETA: Across the street from the GPS Coordinates at 1663 Euclid St. is Parkes/Macdonald Production, which has worked with Spielberg, Amblin and Dreamsworks throughout the years.

ETA(again): Sorry for my ramblings Embarassed. The coordinates are for Bad Robot Productions.

Just few things about Moby Dick releases.

There is a site with all the information about Classics illustrated
http://comicbookdb.com/title.php?ID=7592

And according to this site

Version posted by Ladywint is 14th edition and one posted by KevsterSD is 23th edition.

And here what's on the site about editions -

* Based on a novel by Herman Melville
* Price increases and page reductions with various reprintings
* New cover and art (14th edition)
* New cover (23rd edition)
* 24 editions (9/42-Win/71)

And since 14th edition has new cover and art - the one Josh has must be the one prior to 14th

Nice find on this, Mr. Fett.... and thanks for the link! It's been fun looking through some of the info on there this morning...

Did anyone notice how the word "binder" is encricled in the printout? Maybe a clou as to what the password will be.

It is not visible in the picture itself. It is part of the metadata associated with the file. Most digital cameras and smart phones now embed GPS info in the metadata. The best explanation I can find is this: Geotagging JPEG Photos

Methinks maybe we weren't supposed to see those coordinates.

Shocked Oh wow, awesome. I also totally missed this last night in my search for information, from the Super 8 talent search:
Bad Robot Productions
1221 Olympic Blvd.

Yep, it just confirms that Bad Robot and Team JJ are in charge this ride.

ID Badges

As we sit here and wait for the next morsel to be dropped into this fish tank I started looking at all of the clues again. In particular, the ID badges. The TROGL is obvious. But I noticed something more mundane almost unnoticeable, the colored lines. Each of the four cards each have colored lines running across them. Blue, green, red all spaced out differently from the other. Maybe this has been discussed and if so fish me. But I'm just sitting here wondering if there is any meaning at all to the lines that are present on each of these cards.

Are they a bar code or perhaps a clue to a future game that will require color confirmation? Or are they, the lines of any value at all?

Simplicity;

Are you seeing the colors within the fine intertwining lines on the edges? I know that sometimes that'll happen with very close black lines.

Can you elaborate?

Thnx,

XL

I just reprinted and compared to old badge prints. Those colored lines weren't on the original printed badges. This is something new. I wonder if it could be some kind of stenography for us to figure out or it the colors themselves have meaning.

Thanks for noticing simplicity!

EDIT: Just looked closer at my originals. I think maybe the colored lines are there but my printouts aren't too great. I printed the second ones on a different printer. Did anyone see them in the originals?

The originals are posted on Super8 News:
http://www.super8news.com/2010/11/15/new-dat-print-outs-on-scariest-thing-website/

As far as I can tell there haven't been any changes.

I had always assumed the lines were from the ruled paper used as a background, or part of the effect used to make the images look gritty and realistic.

I tried lining up the badges based on the ruler marks and the coloured lines but they're not really clear enough or regular enough to do anything meaningful as far as I can tell.
