I am not confused by the addition or subtraction of a letter. I know Greek alphabet and if you look at the Wikipedia page for the Greek alphabet, you can see that Stigma is a letter.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stigma_%28letter%29

Stigma is different from Sigma in English, but they are not unrelated in Greek, which was the sign system being debated back when the topic first came up.

Taking into account that the Totheark video the sign appeared in, "Program", was Totheark's sixth video? It is most likely Stigma instead of Sigma, since Stigma is used to represent the number 6. Since in Greek numerals Sigma's numeric value is 200, it's more likely that it's Stigma.

If you watch Program, you can see that the tail of the symbol extends farther than the lower case Sigma, which means it's Stigma. The same thing goes with the symbol on Tim's shirt in Entry 9: it's upside down, but the tail extends just as Stigma and not Sigma.

So unless you're saying that everyone who said this before was merely confused, I'm sticking with Stigma.

Holy junk. I have never heard of Stigma being a letter and I searched for both Sigma and Stigma and read the pages that I linked before saying anything. That page that I found has 20 definitions of Stigma from various sources and none of them say it's a letter. Dictionary.com, you have failed me.

Well then, next time read all the posts about a theory and search more than just one website before posting. The dictionary.com page even has the Greek origins of the modern word.

You know, I bet if Jay contacted hotel staff and showed ID they might be able to arrange with the safe manufacturers to get some kind of override. As long as they can confirm that he is the "owner" of the contents.

But where's the fun in that? And besides, like a lot of people are mentioning, what if there's something really bizarre inside, like a human head or something!? Shocked

I think there's a good reason Jay hasn't tried some of the "easy" ways to get out of this. I like the 1415 theory, personally, though clearly it isn't THE authoritative answer, I just like the possibility that they've been planning the safe this long!

2310: totheark's picture from twitter. there were 23 tally marks, assuming that the symbol past it is a roman numeral for '10' than it is possible they meant it to be '2310'. BONE is another possible solution, but it seems like more of red herring than anything else (and I didn't think of it, which makes it bad)

he was also absent for 220 days, this translates into 7 months, so another possible combination could be 2207

less likely is 6209 (date first video was posted, june 20 09)
there's also 7229 (date of first totheark video)

Has nobody thought of Jays computer? Maybe he has some very suspicious "READMEIAMCODE.txt" files lying around? or something along the lines.

That's a pretty good idea, actually. Though, I would think he probably would've noticed them by now, because it looks like since he's been at the hotel all he's been doing is analyzing video on his computer. He probably went through tons of folders looking for anything to help. Again, just speculation.

As for the combination, that admission theory strikes me as a pretty good one. As previously stated, it could mean admission as referring to the safe?

Alright, time for one more guess.

The package received by Jay in Entry #26 has a 4 digit hand written number on it. That 4 digit number is 4150.

Considering Jay has been moving around it seems unlikely that the package could be delivered through normal means. It would make more sense to have been dropped off by someone who has been tracking Jay. As such the 4 digit number on the packaging label could have some added meaning.

It seems a bit far fetched, but still worth noting.

This seems like a likely possibility to me. Have you sent Jay a message to suggest it?

This may be trout as I haven't read the last two pages, but has anyone tried converting the four capital letters(as seen in TTA's last image) to numbers corresponding to the number pad? This is the image I'm referring to:

http://twitpic.com/37i5t2

M, V, K and E are capitalized, but not n and b.

MVKE would be 6853.
*Edited to correct my retarded link

I was going to suggest someone Twitter @marblehornets to try 4150. Yours is also a viable possibility.
