Now, I'm not a real big fan of TribeTwelve, but as a viewer of all the series, it is much better than Dark Harvest. Noah is more interesting than all these DH guys combined. Even MLAnderson is better than DH, and he has less videos. DH just seems like it's trying too hard and getting no where fast. Confused

I'd really have to disagree with you there. Albeit every series has its flaws, which DH obviously has in some respect, I wouldn't say that TT is MUCH better. The "Submissions" in the beginning of the series were not very well done at all and the latest Thanksgiving Day footage (the part with crazy Noah), which I'm assuming was supposed to be scary, just made me laugh. Quite a bit actually. I personally think that MH is and always will be number 1, but since every series has its flaws id put EMH, TT and DH in a tie for second, even though I'm sure I will invoke the wrath of Cthulu for saying such blasphemes.

I seriously don't get the appeal of Dark Harvest...at all. Especially after the blunder that was "Log #10". EMH and TT have never made something as unforgivable as that. The acting is pretty much the same as the others. MH, EMH, TT, ect. all feel the same type of forced acting so that's a given, there was nothing as bad as JonClubs113 or anything. And, now that I think of it, even TT has more of a story than DH. Well, DH has no plot, that is. All I see when I watch DH are some kids running around with cameras. And there is distortion. Very standard and unremarkable. No story at all, really, besides the fact that 'someone's following us and strange things are happening, oooOOOoooOOOooo'. Wierd things just happening to characters without a backstory does not constitute as a very good side story and especially not as a standalone plot.

For example:
MH has Jay trying to find Alex and figure out what happened to him along with the cunning Masky and Slender Man.
TT has Noah trying to find out the circumstances around Milo's death and Milo's mom along with dealing with the mysterious Observer/Slender Man.
EMH has Jeff, Evan, and Vince trying to figure out who the unknown character of HABIT is and trying to kill Slender Man along with other things I just don't care about to delve into.

...but what could be said about DH?
Another vlog where mostly nothing happens and we kind of see Slender Man sometimes...OH and there's a guy with a knife. Really, it's ok and all, not a terrible series at all, but it just does not give the 'extra oomph' or extraordinary content and storyline that the other side stories possess, not enough to be better than TT or EMH...not by a long shot. Hey, Dark Harvest, how about you guys gimmie a plot first and then I'll take you seriously. K? Wink

Honestly, Noah's cluster f bombs (like the one were he's trying to be all serious business at the end of "Token Letter" or the ones where he's trying to act scared and stuff like in "Unknown Caller" and at the end of the second thanksgiving footage video) take me out of the story way more than that (admittedly god awful) special effects failure in "Log #10" ever did, so I dunno. It's not just the acting that's subpar and forced in TT, it's the dialogue too. Conversations in TT just don't feel natural to me. I can't bring myself to care about a character that I can't even think of as a real person. Confused

That said, I'm not going to hate on TT too much, when Noah shuts the **** up, lets some atmosphere sink in, and lets his excellent production values do the talking, TT really REALLY impresses me. Honestly, the ending on the thanksgiving footage video probably wouldn't have been unintentionally hilarious if it had been mostly silent, but instead we got more of Noah's acting...

I also really liked that Noah tried to get in touch with Milo's parents after his death, which has always puzzled me about other slender vlogs. (Why don't any of these kids have parents!?)

As far as plot goes, I will have to concede that DH is pretty bare at the moment, I mean, the biggest leads we've got so far came in Log #6, with the news paper story about the guy missing in his own home, and now with entry 12, we've got the friend who has been stalked for some time now, and of course, Alex's weird agitation about the camera has been brought up too many times for it to go unnoticed.

I don't get how anyone can find the cursing odd in TT. People curse all the time, especially in scary situations, and if they are personal, expect many of them. IT adds to atmosphere more than takes away from it, in my eyes. The less there cursing, the less real sounding, imho. I'd totally curse that much.

Some people have sailor tongues, get used to it. :/

It's not the cursing I'm complaining about, I curse all the time, more so than Noah does in TT honestly, the proble with the cursing in TT is the execution. Noah's acting really ruins it and the cursing just comes off as narmy. It may make sense to curse like that in the situations Noah's in, but it doesn't change the fact that the execution is off.

Telling me to get used to that is like telling me to get used to the fact that some people are sexy when I complain about how Micheal Bay used Megan Fox in Revenge of the Fallen.

Well, arguing execution of something, like in TribeTwelve's case, is all perceptual, really. Not having a plot on the other hand, like in DarkHarvest's case, seems more of a major problem due to it's factual nature. MetaMike has a solid point here, whereas, you just have a loose opinion based on nothing but how you experience your life.

I don't understand why things always seem to get like this. I love both Tribe Twelve and Dark Harvest. I don't see why people always have to nitpick at things like they matter. It's either you enjoy watching it, or you don't. And frankly I love watching both series.

TL;DR: Can't we all just get along?

Meta Mike said that he had a problem with Log#10 and that the others had never fallen that far. I said that I had a problem with Noah's acting and the dialogue throughout TT. I even admitted that the special effect failure in Log #10 was God awful, it just didn't bother me as much as it did MM.

Also, I do agree with MetaMike that DarkHarvest has a paper thin plot. I even mentioned in my post that in 2 months worth of entries, there are only 3 solid leads. These leads also don't exactly add up to much either. My comments about TT's acting wasn't addressing the MM's issue with the plot of DH, I was just addressing his statement about Log# 10, I'm aware that what I said about the acting was my opinion.

As for my response to your initial post, I was explaining that my problem with the cluster f-bombs had nothing to do with Noah's sailor's tongue. If I came off as abrasive in that, I'm sorry.

But yeah, sorry if I wasn't entirely clear with my earlier posts, I'm pretty stressed atm.

@bartok & guest
How come two people can't have a nice, albeit vaguely heated discussion about something on the internet without someone playing the "can't we all get along" card? Razz I don't have a problem with MetaMike, I'm sure he's a swell guy in real life and I've never seen anything out of him to make me dislike him, I'm not mad at him because he likes vlog X more than vlog y, I just happen to like vlog y more than he does.

Also, I don't see it as that simple, I can like something and still take issue with it. I enjoy Tribe Twelve and Dark Harvest too. It's not like I'm comparing TT to Apple of my Eye or Twisted Materials, I just never got into it more than the others.

The convo has taken a weird turn. Now I can only imagine Tommy Wisaeu dealing with Slendy.

I'm on now but my chat thing doesn't seem to work. Are we just watching them play Zelda, or are they going to actually do or say anything of even remote interest?

Alex's phone has a distorted screen when opened. They have stated they intend to put up pictures of this later.
