I think it's a touch too soon to declare this a classic on the level of EMH/MH/TT, but I think they have a shot at it.

Thoughts:

- I like the fact that in Kind von der Ritter's video they moved away from "oooh faceless guy in a business suit". I know it's still "oooh faceless guy" but the fact that they've cooked up a unique look for their Slendy equivalent sits well with me. (Though the "robe" is a little too obviously a dressing gown...)
- Use of sound is interesting - I like the way they used KindVonDerRitter's video to establish the link between that low tone and the entity, so when the tone showed up in Log 7 you knew that the entity would be making some sort of appearance.

Oh wow, I had no idea that there was a video response. O_O Good thing it's the morning and I'm already awake. XD

I just viewed all the videos and here are my thoughts:

It has a dynamic enough opening without being blatant about the subject matter like MH. It rather feels like a more held-back version of TT. Anyway, I appreciated the character development with little to no activity going on when the characters were just "hanging out". I feel like the pacing to this series is great because in 7 videos we've only seen some photos that could be taken by Slendy or one of his minions and some black marker work on a kidnapping article. Entry 7 was great. The fear instilled by just the arm closing the door (which was a bit odd considering Slendy usually enters places/rooms) was fantastic.

All-in-all I'm totally willing to see how deep this one goes.

"KindvonderRitter"=>Child of Slendy...Slendy has a kid now! Very Happy

Really though, I want to see where this goes.

This seems very promising to me so far... As others have said the pacing is good and I was pleasantly suprised that I wasn't getting beaten over the head with slender man sightings right from the start. Aside from the response video, this guy seems to have a good understanding of subtlety.

The arm closing the door thing was great because it was so against expectations. With horror stuff you're usually expecting the scary thing to jump out at you, or creep slooooooowly towards you. (MH etc. adds passive observation too the mix, but still, you get my point.) EMH's thing with Slendy standing there waggling his head before slamming the door shut felt like him taunting the boys, but this seems different from that too. The shutting the door thing doesn't just establish that there's a presence there: it establishes that it isn't actually interested in directly attacking the protagonist. (It doesn't even seem worried or disturbed by his presence - the closing the closet bit isn't rushed or hurried at all.) It's just something that's taken over his house and is doing its own thing.

It's a longshot-
Has anyone seen Closet Atrium? The moster here vaguely reminds me it, where instead of a tall, slender man in a suit we get a husky guy in a hood.
EDIT: DISREGARD THIS.

I didnt notice the arm closing the closet on the first run through! Had to look a couple of times before I saw it in the darkness (I'm watching it in a very bright room, like hell am I going to go through possible vlog-horrors in the dark!)

I dunno...I'm sort of borderline on this. It has potential, yes, but the effects...eh, they just make it hard for me to get into it. They've been better in the last video, but earlier? Part of me really wants to say "It really must have scared you when you slammed that door on your way out of the room" or "you must have been terrified when you hit the power button on your remote."

I don't know. I'm really, really torn. The effects sort of tear me out of it more than immerse me, and the acting really isn't enough to pull me back in. That said, I'm not giving up on it quite yet.

It's an good series, but I think we're putting too many expectations on it. It's actually competently done, that doesn't make it a classic, that makes it the industry standard. Or rather, what the standard should be. Let's just sit back and wait for it to go above and beyond.

EDIT: And if that 'son of slendy' thing is our villain, brb laughing forever.

I really like this series. Particulary because the antagonist is different from slenderman, I've gotten so used to tall, dark and terrifying that he doesn't scare me as much as he use to. This guy may seem like slendy's fatass German cousin, but at least he's a somewhat new page to wright on.

Just caught up on these last night. I'm interested enough to keep an eye on it, for sure. I was kinda skeptical about it until the latest entry, and... yeah, not gonna lie, the arm closing the door freaked me out. I'm also enjoying the fact that the main characters are responding in semi-logical ways. Like running the fuck out of the haunted house.

Didn't realize there were video responses, I'll have to check that out when I get home.

New video:

Despite distortions, I'm getting the feeling this isn't Slendy. The guy looks too short and wears a different jacket.

Thoughts?
