Did the hospital leave the knife in or something? Did he see an old woman getting a sponge bath and get scarred for life?

I wouldn't say he's being an a-hole, I think he's just sort of in a state of depression. Maybe he feels like there's no way they're going to get through this alive, and that it's pointless to even try.

I wouldn't say he's being an a-hole, I think he's just sort of in a state of depression. Maybe he feels like there's no way they're going to get through this alive, and that it's pointless to even try.


Now the question is, will he keep spiraling down deeper into depression like some characters in series have, will he pushed to a breaking point and lash out, or will some major event snap him out of it?

Its hard to tell at this point.
