Ancient Mystical Cult?
Ugh. I know this Slender Cult has been in the series for a while, but this log made it just seem really cheesy and silly. Slender Man is some sort of ancient Egyptian god now?

Have you been reading the blog at all? It's been in the plot for almost a year now, I think.

No, I don't read blogs. I've read JAF, ST, Dreams in Darkness, and The Tutorial, but I'm not a big fan of having to bother with following a blog (or two) along with multiple video channels. That's largely why I've lost interest in AP Collection/Angel's Game/Josh Rallus's Crazy Phun Tyme Adventures.

As I said, I enjoy the videos because they are well done and it's one of the top series beneath the big 3. And I know the cult has been part of the story for a while, but it hasn't really bothered me until now. I'm not saying it's a bad series or my opinion is fact, but many a good story/film/game/series has been ruined by the introduction of and over-reliance upon ancient mystical cults. It's an easy crutch to fall back on. (see: Silent Hill after 2.)

I believe punxtr is referring to the Project Egypt blog found here: http://project-egypt-blog.blogspot.com/

It's how the boys made the connection between their issues and the cult, and Daniel in their latest videos is the one running the blog.

I think the difference between some of the things you're referring to, and this, is that in already established franchises introducing the added plot element of a cult clutters the story. In this, however, the cult clearly has been a part of it from the moment the Not!Slendy arrives on scene and is leading us to something big.

So far the series has been amazing, and it seems they know where they're going, so I don't think we have to worry too much. Very Happy

Did you read the Google Doc? It pretty much explains everything.

Does it seem weird to you that Greg jumped into being a cult worshipper rather quickly?

Jesse basically said 'we know about this, we can help you, blah blah' and in the ceremony Greg basically gives himself over to the cult and becomes a worshipper?

It's rather quick because I believe that there's a time lapse between Jesse bringing Greg to his first meeting and the actual initiation itself. Jesse mentioned giving the cult leader the tapes at the end of the meeting, which I believe Greg has been doing up until this point.

The real question is: why does Greg choose to keep the tapes of his initiation and what consequences will it have?

Yeah that's fair, personally I think it was his first 'attendance' the way the leader talks about Jesse bringing a new member in but either is possible.

He probably wanted to keep the tapes as some sort of documentation, maybe to show Alex and Chris, but it looks like that did him in. It's a little unsettling to think that Jesse might have been part of the Slendy-anon (my new name for the cult!) that did the stabbing of his supposed friend.

Really like the way this is turning out though. Feels like they're focusing more on a cohesive/interesting story than anything else. Worth the wait(s)!

Other than the vids and the twitter (which is really just to tell you that videos are going up) check out the black book ( http://www.mediafire.com/?v2j67fhvovtvv53 ).

So have to like theory. Likes the person in the final betrayal is not Greggory for here. Could the main overseer been killed. The cultist probable took said camera tape it not like they let him leave. Possible for there Greggory had given the blank tape or stole tape backs. Run there Jesse run think Chris plus Alex may hurt you. Could like Greggory be killed by Jesse seperated there. For talked riftings testing place. Think people Fallout references place.

Most likely Greg didn't give the tapes to the overseer, rendering Greg "betraying" him. Since the video is my_final_betrayal, this was probably a punishment by death.

Not sure about it though. There may not be enough evidence to conclude.

I'm still fairly certain my_final_betrayal was filmed by KindVonDerRitter, since he seems to stop time partway through the video just like he did in trauen. Also, Alex received the file from his own email the same way Chris received pictures from KVDR in Log 3. By the time Alex received the video, Greg had already been dead for months.
