kosinski talks about making the film in this interview -visual easter eggs, about not having enough time, what he would like to put in the bluray, what other things he would have done:

At the end, when Tron was sinking and reverting back to blue, was I the only one that was looking for any indication that he was moving? I caught myself murmuring "get up... get up... move..." and was hoping he'd show up there at the end. Ah well, sequel.

I can't wait to get my copy of the Art of Tron- the artistic team did a bang-up job on the vehicles, city, and games.

I have a feeling he's going to pull a jesus on everyone.

let's just say, i've seen this movie waaay to many times. Very Happy

Well, if your recollection allows... and you've got a bit of time... Could you do that for Flynn's speech, from early in the film, too?

...loyal to the end, bradly maintains his belief that flynn is not missing,
and is instead persuing his dream of quote, a digital frontier
to reshape the human condition.

in there, is a new world,
in there, is our future,
in there, is our destiny.

Thanks for that.
I thought there was a subtle difference in content.
Clu's speech had that extra "Out there is our victory" line.

I had a major nitpick with the whole "escape from the game grid" part- seriously, I know that light cycles might not work in the rough outlands of the world, but not Recognizers? Or the lightjets? You would have expected that with the ease that CLU eventually gets to Kevin's hidey-hole, they could have had them followed. IE- one of the easiest things to do would have been to add a tracking virus to the identity disc of all programs suited up at the game grid.

Otherwise, aside that minor nitpick, and the last 3 minutes of the movie, I thought it was great. Can't wait to see it again.

correct me if im wrong but if clu couldnt find flynns hide out then how did Sam ride the white lightcycle back to the city on a road with a bridge (or was that already in the city.
its one of those things that will bug me but TBH i enjoyed the movie and dont want to ruin it with reality.Smile

I think there were roads connecting TRON City with the Outlands, however, you see that Flynn's hideout is pretty well hidden as Quorra and Sam approach for the first time. Without knowing where to go it'd be nearly impossible for CLU to find it.

but Quorra gave Sam that map that she was hiding in the Jules Verne book...even if the map didnt cover the outlands he just needed to ride toward the digital light pollution of the city and find a bridge

remember when Quorra goes in her room and opens the book (its another Jules Verne book not the one she holds up during the "What's he like?!" scene) and grabs the map inside (looks like the EOLC coasters from Comic Con 2010). she walks back to Sam's room, gives him the map, and says "This is his [Castor's] sector. Make it there alive and he'll find you."

i wouldve assumed that it was a coaster/ticket too if she hadnt said that whole "sector" line Very Happy . i think it said EOLC on the map, so i think it was probably from the club.

yeah! i've yet to see it in imax...going to next week i think. 6th times the charm! Laughing

Wait! The premiere wasn't in 70mm INAX IMAX?

no, the premiere was at the El Capitan, an art deco theatre from the 20's or 30's that Disney owns now. it's been fitted for real d.

Late to the party here, but saw it today at the IMAX Waterloo, London.

thought it was a superb film - fantastic entertainment, and did exactly what it should have done. Sure, you could pick holes in the story, but anyone could see how well structured the vision was.

Loved Clu - not perfect but worked well enough for me. As did the flashbacks. I could see what they wanted to do stylistically and that was enough - didn't matter that we had a touch of the uncanny valley sometimes.

Overall, very pleased - enough to buy the soundtrack and game Wink

Flynn lives!....(kinda Wink )
