I hate to burst your bubble, but that article isn't saying that the movie is officially greenlit, it's just saying that it's looking good. Plus, no official announcement has come from Disney about it either. :/

All I can say is, if you're going to the San Diego Comic-Con in 2011, make sure you go to the Disney panel. If there's going to be a Tron 3, or Tron Legacy 2, or Tron Whatever... that's where the world will find out about it. Mr. Green

I am keeping the faith on this one. When is SDCC 2011 anyway? May have to use up some vacation as I have never been to the event.

socalsteve's dead on: July 21-24 (Preview Night on the 20th is sold out unless you have 'connections'). Previous attempts to open attendee registration have had problems ranging from insufficient server utility to outright denial of service attacks. Last I heard, they're hoping to OFFICIALLY open registration sometime around the end of January or beginning of February.

Of note is that children age 11 and under are FREE with a paid adult badge, and Juniors (12-17) or Seniors (60+) get badges at half price.

Yeah, and the real bitch of it is that the tickets for THIS year's event sold out at LAST year's event. (If you want the ones worth purchasing, that is.)

You're referring, of course, to the four-day passes that include Preview Night on Wednesday, June 20 (which I was personally able to buy at last year's con). Those passes are, sadly, sold out, although those with 'connections' can get passes that work the same way. Industry Professionals, for example, get a free, full badge for themselves and a guest, along with a number of badges for kids and youths. So if you've done any artistic work for official distribution, be it in print or online (especially in connection with comics or movies), you might try going the Professional route. Just make sure you can back up your claims... Very Happy

Or, like me, you could try and register to volunteer. Not too sure how that works, but I'm guessing if you're picked you will miss out on a lot of the panels and stuffs you'll want to participate in.

Volunteering for SDCC is terrible, you aren't allowed to sign up for your service before the con, you have to sign up for the next day the day of AFTER your volunteering. So if you volunteer late Thursday afternoon there is not so much to choose from for your Friday service. I missed the Disney panel in 2009 since that was the only time slot they had left open. And I got put on hallway management duty right across from the exit of the Disney panel. I wish more people had left during the panel since I could see the screen when the exit door opened.

It would be nice if it was like when I volunteered for A-kon where I worked preview night and 8 hours friday and had the rest of the time free. (Of course A-kon also gave hotel and free parking to volunteers too so that was also a major plus).
