Slender Man in Other Media I was interested in what you guys would think of Slender Man in other media like novels or video games? I think it would be awesome to make a Slender Man video game based on the Amnesia: Dark Decent engine; in which there is no combat and your best course of action is to hide from attackers.

This is a stupid idea... because I only made it about 2 hours into Amnesia before I had to uninstall the game and seek therapy.
I can see Slendy in an old school Adventure game but I wouldn't really care for a modern Survival Horror version.

I was thinking that the story would be a mix of flashbacks and "headcam". The protagonist has started recording himself by a head strap mounted camera. So in the "headcam" sections the player is vulnerable to sound and video distortion. Maybe you'd have to have Slendy as part of a whole. Maybe EMH style with rakes or maskys because being chased by Slendy would be pointless.
The opening level would be you. Middle of the night in your suburban house. You need to go downstairs for some reason, maybe for a drink. You turn around to go back upstairs and BOOM, slender man looking at you through the window; camera fade out. Run the opening credits, introduce the story.
It would be pretty slow paced and some levels would be almost empty but they'd be all about a freakish mood or something not being quite right.
Also I so might write a Slender Man Text Adventure...

That would be crazy difficult to pull off, but if someone could, it would be absolutely awesome, I think. I've wanted to play Amnesia for a while, but my computer sucks when it comes to graphics- pretty much anything 3D crashes it.
Something tells me a Slender Man Adventure game would be very similar to Yahtzee's Chzo Mythos, which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all...

I say that this game should eventually turn into a game where you are becoming TTA and he goes all, "Manhunt 2" on random victims.

Amnesia is a lot less scary if you watch the Tobuscus "Let's Play" youtube series. I imagine a SM game would be difficult to pull off.

Sounds nice, the object of the game is not to kill but to hide, like Amnesia. You must not try to attack or approach but run, I think it would play out like a heavy rain schematic but with a mouse and keyboard. No camera imo, you can carry one and use it to review what you did but it would have no real purpose other than to realtime film or act as a Slendy-meter.
About the Slender Man text adventure. Want a Java Slendy Adventure ? But how would you do a text adventure?

It might be a good idea if the game was set up in such a way that it made you think you could kill Slenderman, by giving items such as Anti-Slenderman Spray or an ax. But soon is it made abundantly clear that your goal is to stay sane as long as possible.

There's a program called Adrift that you can use to generate them. I'd like to code one properly but I don't have the skill set =(

What language does it use, my dads a long time programmer (dates back to like 70s or 80s) and if I can't find tutorials for learning the language I can sure as hell ask my dad. Java may not be the best seeing as the amount of different classes it would involve would take me say, 3 hours...to code the character...characters first functions...

ADRIFT doesn't use a language which is the beauty of it. I'm pretty sure you can write a text adventure game in almost any class based language.
