 		It would probably be similarly priced during the build up to the next movie (are they really making another Dark Crystal?) as long as you can't buy it from a normal store.

 		You have got to be kidding me. Why the hell would they jack up the price like this? I have the white case and the DVD box set. Loved the 20th anneversary edition- seeing the lingerie sequence was worth every penny.

 		I don't know why either.
It's stupid! I know in general Disney OOP dvd's go for some money. But NOBODY cared about this movie 6 months ago.

I only noticed what prices they were going for last week.

HA! It's been in development hell for 5 years at least now, right? I've got the old LP/poster and a press kit (with hologram!) and I keep them locked away in my magic box of schwag that I predict my daughter will sell for weed money in 30 years...

Finite item with the ability to only decrease in numbers + an extreme jump interest from consumers = third party sellers trying to control/predict what the market will bear.

While it may not be a realistic price, you could always undercut them by $30 and still make an obscene profit off of someone thinking they are getting a good deal.
