Game Really over?

Howdy folks!

Are we really sure the game is over? I remember on the Architecture site (can't remember the name of the darn thing now, only that Sam's mom worked there) said that they were having a special event on the 17th of December (the same day as the official, full on release date of the movie)

Do you think that was just random chatter to make the site look real, or do you think it points to one last event/clue thingy just to give some finale to the game, like Sam and Flynn triumphantly strolling into the party, being totally pimp (can you tell I do writing in my free time?)

I'm pretty sure. They updated the discussion threads with "Truckloads of Thanks" thread:

No idea, maybe it's a after party for the people that made this...I think it's well deserved. Big thanks to the people that made this possible!

I'm going to say this phase is over but they may have left it slightly open in the event they do make more movies and get funding for more ARG campaings for the movies.

to spout out another metaphor: this was book one in this epic cyber-saga, and we have just read those last precious few words. end. of. the. line.

maybe the game isn't really over. probably now, but it will come back. i got this note with my flynn lives pin i recieved in the mail today:

Quote:
Great job gaming the system!

Our mega-surge decimated the network... I've always wanted to do that! If Kevin Flynn is out there, he must have heard the digital ruckus we created.

Thanks to your undying commitment, there is a new realm of possibilities rezzing up on the horizon. You opened the portal - but where does it lead? We may call on you in the future to answer that very question. In the meantime, wear this pin proudly and show the world what we have known in our hearts all along: FLYNN LIVES!

Which mean you should keep your phones charged up and duct taped to your person 24/7 until the end of time. Twisted Evil

DROP PHONE

My drop phone just rang -- it was an automated Virgin Mobile message, telling me my 90-day top-up window ends in a week...

I think it'd be cool to have something Flynn Lives related at the time of the BluRay/DVD release. And of course sequels. Plural. And please don't take 28 years to make the next one!

I doubt it'll happen. Which is sad. The sheer number of resources they made for the backstory, and they'll all be lost. Look at everything from TDK. As far as I know, none of that made it onto the BluRay. I mean, okay- there wasn't a whole lot of backstory with the Joker stuff, but when they moved into the I Believe in Harvey Dent phase, it actually did have something fo a story of him being elected to DA. And if you didn't see it then, it's gone now. ::shrugs:: It sucks, but apparently nobody views ARG materials as relevant considering the sheer number of BS extras usually shoved onto a DVD so they can market it as a special edition.

What's to stop us from archiving ourselves? It's not hard to save websites and videos and things. And we have all our experiences and stuff written on the forum. If someone slaps it together into some kind of booklet or something you could Ashcan it to the rest of the Flynn Lives people. You know, one last piece of the memory?
