[META] WB/Amateur (I gotta say this)

I was reading over the recently locked post concerning whether or not this ARG is official (affiliated with Warner Brothers and The Wachowski Brothers), or if this is just a "hoax" by some amateurs, and is infact not legally affiliated with anything official.

So, i have to say this. I personally hope it's not affiliated with Warner Brothers. This would mean there are a group of people out there who really know what they're doing (you can't deny they're doing a great job thus far). I think, in a society where it's SO hard to break into any kind of entertainment field (art, screen writing, acting, game designing even), it's very refreshing to see people doing it themselves. I equate this to the semi-recent indie film boom that has spawned directors like Tarantino, Wes Anderson (Bottlerocket, The Royal Tennenbaums). Personally, i think it would be absolutely wondering if there was a group of people out there who are determined to do this, with or without the help everyone thinks they would need to pull it off.

The ARG is continuing after Revolutions, so obviously it's not there to pump up the movie. If this is official, is it here to create a buzz around The Matrix Online? I don't know if that game really needs a buzz. It's going to be huge, regardless (whether or not it works, we'll leave up to the experience).

If it's just something that some people put together, then my hats off to them for making it so complex and entertaining as to keep me awake until 3am every single night. They've made me interested enough to actually care about things like steg, ftp, multi-layers, sound editors, image editors, binary code, need i go on?

The important thing to me is what i see:
-I see people on this forum (and many others) working together in this large virtual think-tank to come up with solutions. Instead of watching television or playing video games, we're becomming more acquainted with things technical, and most importantly, we're using our minds. I think that's the most important thing here.

I know an earlier topic similiar to this was locked, but i just had to say it. It doesn't really matter if this is sanctioned or not, because it won't be any less fulfilling if it isn't.

The "other thread" posted by yours truly was probably closed because of this: thread reply

I personally feel the same way as Cyfre. With the exception of going so far as to say hoping this has nothing to do with WB. I just don't care anymore. If it is, it is. If it's not it's still fun. Just as fun.

I could give a rat's flying poop shoot who the PMs are (sorry PMs). I enjoy this game.

I do care who the PMs are, and I hope they take a bow afterwards. But announcing themselves now would shatter the illusion, so I would agree that it doesn't matter... yet.

PM's, keep up the good work. I enjoy the headaches, honest!

Oh, I think I might have spotted a clue... Wachowski Bros, Warner Bros....

Look out, here come the Wongmo Bros.

They are a bit like the Mario Bross but ride dolphins.

I'm glad someone else on this planet is happy to mention Johnny Mnemonic, Xtrava... Neo before he was the one. awww...

Crying shame about that movie: the novella was brilliant, and had some great concepts (like neural memory implants etc). Go, William Gibson, Go!
