But if that actually was Alex's bloody shirt, then wouldn't that once again just put Jay and the Operator in the same place instead of J being a stalkee?

EDIT: I abused the word 'and.'

I was simply noting the amount of times that they were in the same place. In truth, his appearance in 17 was possibly (nay, probably) due to Alex or Tim rather than Jay. It is important to note that they were all together at that time, though.

And there is so far less than a scrap of evidence of the identity of the person to whom the shirt belonged. I know that the thought of it being Tim or Alex or Seth or Sarah or Amy or Masky or totheark or Evan or Sailor Moon or whoever is intriguing, but lets not treat any one theory as more likely than the thought that the Operator walked into a store, went to the deli, purchased some blood, then went over to menswear, got a shirt, soaked it, and set it on the rock in the tunnel. We weren't even given a suspicion as to whose shirt it was.

Don't forget that Alex was actively seeking out video of the Operator, and on at least one occasion approached it.

Jay, on the other hand, is just freaked out to hell by it.

Yeah, but then Alex started actively trying to get the fuck away from it. Jay most likely skipped the first step because he already knew it was bad news, by watching Alex.

Here's some stuff from when I was checking out episode 32:

Interesting thing about Ibuprofen, could be nothing however. From here: http://www.drugs.com/ibuprofen.html

"Usual Adult Dose for Headache:

Study (n=34) - Prevention of Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)-induced headache:
600 mg orally 90 minutes prior to the initial ECT session"

Does the electrical discharge (yes, gross-sounding in the wrong context) given off by the Slenderman give people headaches? It obviously messes with electrical equipment. It might be worth suggesting to J that he take some Ibuprofen in situations where he thinks he might come into contact with Slendie. Masky from season 1 also had pills that kind of looked like Motrin, a brand of pain killer that has Ibuprofen in it...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Went back and watched Entry #28 to try and figure out what Ibuprofen J was taking. Looks like the orange oval pill on this page: http://www.spiritpharma.com/products/analgesics/

That'd be a 200mg tablet.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

May have stumbled on a reason for their memory loss with the Ibuprofen examining. From here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroconvulsive_therapy

Check out the "Adverse Effects" section.

This passage struck me as interesting:

"Retrograde amnesia is most marked for events occurring in the weeks or months before treatment, with one study showing that although some people lose memories from years prior to treatment, recovery of such memories was "virtually complete" by seven months post-treatment, with the only enduring loss being memories in the weeks and months prior to the treatment."

A description of antegrade amnesia follows which is kind of interesting. However, the seven months post-treatment thing was interesting to me as a coincidental timing (even though they don't have their memory back I know). Still, we've seen Slendy and Masky causing insane amounts of electrical disturbance. Could be there are side effects similar to Shock treatment.

-------------------------------

And later...

--------------------------

A couple of other things I just dug up... The first from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroconvulsive_therapy

"The aim of ECT is to induce a therapeutic clonic seizure (a seizure where the person loses consciousness and has convulsions) lasting for at least 15 seconds."

Anybody remember what happened to Masky when he chased J in The House? Yeah, that's right, he started convulsing and seemed to pass out for a few seconds. He seemed to have quite the supply of ibuprofen on hand before...

-=- Edit -=-

Although, seizures are also a side-effect of taking too much Ibuprofen...

Info from here: http://www.drugs.com/ibuprofen.html

"severe headache, neck stiffness, chills, increased sensitivity to light, and/or seizure (convulsions)."

-=- End Edit -=-

Also, check out the "Patient Experience Section" from the previous Wiki link. Good stuff in there.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

There are several reasons why I disagree with theories that suggest the pills are uppers: neither sleeping nor staying awake make a difference in Slenderman's, Masky's, or TTA's ability to find or fuck with people. Second (and probably most damning) is that every character in the series sleeps. Third, none of the characters has a stated goal of staying awake.

If they were trying to stay awake we would know. They aren't dealing with Freddy Krueger here...

Also, being on the run makes it difficult to get your hands on prescription or illegal medicines. You need contacts and time for both of them.

(Edited for iPhone typing insanity... so small that screen is!)

Wow, that's some great stuff, Mantisbot. It sounds like you nailed a lot of the 'HOW?'s for the effects we've been seeing.

I was poking around trying to find the video in the first season where we saw the pills J found in The House... and I couldn't find the clip. He didn't actually look at the pills in Entry #16 or #19, but I thought he did? I remember him picking up a long white ovular pill at some point but I can't remember the clip. Any ideas? As for what that pill is, I think it's a 600mg Ibuprofen tablet, which fits nicely into the recommended adult dosage for post seizure/electro shock therapy headache treatment.

In the first link, the ones along the bottom row seem to be the closest to what I remember seeing. The second gives you a sense of how large the pills are.

The pills don't matter. Ever read I am the cheese? I remember reading it in class and everyone is like, OMG what are those pills?!?!?! and I'm like, they're Ibuprofene, and they're like NUH AH! THEY MATTER! and I'm like, w/e's. Geuss what? they didn't matter. These pills are a red herring, it's just Ibuprofene or something to let everyone know that Masky is Tim.

He finds the pills in Entry #16, at about 6:45 -- but you're right, he doesn't look at them. He actually doesn't take a good look at them until Entry #24 at about 1:56, running about the house on his final trip.

However, taking a look at them compared to the Ibuprofen, the pills in #24 don't quite match up. They look like capsule pills, wheras the Ibuprofen 600 are not quite as smoothly rounded as the pills we see in MH. I suppose it could be -- the quality is not that good, and we don't get a really super detailed clear view -- but first inspection suggests they're not the same.

Hmmm... you're right. Although, it's Episode #23, not #24 (for those of you following along at home). Those are definitely capsules and not tablets, as the one J messed with seemed to roll and has a very smooth looking exterior. It seems Ibuprofen does come in 800mg white capsules though, but they're marked (maybe not always?).

http://astral.tradeindia.com/Exporters_Suppliers/Exporter3343.368932/IBUPROFEN-TABLETS-IBUPROFEN-800-MG-CAPLETS.html

Now I'm gonna hafta go back and research what 800mg doses of Ibuprofen are used for, or alternatively, what medicines come in white capsules. Argh! :p

This is really weird. The way you can tell there is ibuprofen in something where I live is by the brown colour of the pill. Acedaminophen is always white and Ibuprofen Brown. Is the orange thing an American thing?

*le sigh* if only Alex had just sent J a message of some sorts (not all TTA ish please) that explained everything he knew and what had happened. But alas....

to seem at least partially on topic, if I had a bad cough, I'd take cough syrup, or cough drops, rather than go get a prescription. I think that the Ibuprofen is the most likely thing that the Orange tablets turn out to be. The Pills that Tim kept could have been anti-seizure medication, but that's not something that they sell over the counter, if it was prescription (as such medicine would be) than it would be in a different type of bottle. the pills Masky had were probably Ibuprofen as well, and Masky used them as a distraction.

Not necessarily true. I have prescription meds that come in a similar looking bottle.

My personal theory is that the pills that Jay found were tampered with by totheark. Does anyone else remember the totheark video where poison was mentioned?

Nnnnnno....maybe I'm off and someone could jog my memory. I remember nothing about TTA mentioning poison.

And if the pills were poisoned, Jay wouldn't be suffering from amnesia.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He would be suffering from an extreme case of death.

It had a bunch of words flashing over some zeros. Ugh, I can't remember the name and am too lazy to look it up now XD Oh, it's the one that spelled out precedes trees.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Not all poisons cause instant death, and I believe there are some that don't cause death at all. It's possible that Tim is being poisoned as well, now that I think about it.
