A somewhat offtopic question, but...

Some assistance would be appreciated.

I'm trying to convert my collection of Marble Hornets FLV's into separate AVI's so that I can burn them to DVD, thus sharing the "wealth" (also insanity) with some people I know who are either not able to access the internet, or just forget too damned much and thus haven't watched MH yet. (Also I liked that "leaving random DVDs about" idea and want to do the same when winter is over.)

However, I'm having some issues converting them all. DVD Flick won't accept them all as one single title, because they're all sorts of different aspect ratios, but I'm not exactly sure how to convert them all to the same AR. I'm using AVIDemux as my converter program.

Does anyone have any ideas and/or constructive criticism?

Only that "a somewhat off topic question" should go in the "off topic thread". Or perhaps in one of the threads that involves audio or audio puzzles.

Good point. I'm still going to burn at least one for my own personal enjoyment, but I'll send Troy a message.

@JKatkina: This doesn't have to do with audio at all.

@Dr. Leonard Mengele: I have a collection of FLV's, but I'll check that out, thanks. (EDIT: Does this collection have chapter breaks inserted? Because that's kind of the big deal for me.)

I used the YouTube Downloader extension for Google Chrome which adds a download drop-down list on YouTube videos. With that extension, and probably a lot of others, you can choose to download them as MP4's. They would be a lot easier to manage than FLV's which pretty much only play on VLC and the web.

Either that, or find a converter somewhere.

They play on Winamp as well, actually, and on any container for Adobe Flash Player.

I haven't been able to find the YouTube Downloader extension for Chrome. Will have to look again.

as long as you dont sell the dvds you should be fine, there is nothing wrong with distributing the series when its already available to watch for free. also this totally warrants its own thread people need to chill out
