Oh gosh I hope this happens!

Jay gets less derp every day. I hope he has the balls to follow through with it.

Jay should just show him the entries. I would start with the ones from the timmytapes and then move on to other entries that he's in.

Gawsh, it was exciting to read that from Jay. I would really like to see him try and come clean with Tim after all this time, it could lead to a lot of the answers that we need, and it could lead to a lot of interesting character development. Given the state Tim was in by the time they left the annex, I have no idea how well the latter would take it, but I'm thinking it might shake him enough to tell Jay what history he has with that building. Since he seems to be a pretty amiable guy, I could imagine him dropping his whole fuss with Jay and be apologetic about it, so I'm thinking he'll take it...not hotly, just some other way. Can't imagine it'll be easy on him though, if he's really forgotten.

If he's faking it...I don't know, I don't even really want to consider that possiblity. It just seems like it would be a really cheap reveal to me, unless there's a series of really complex and compelling reasoning to back it all up. If it happens, I'll have to accept it, but I've grown so sure to thinking that his forgetfullness is of no kidding. At this point, though, one can never know for sure. Him saying he and Alex never went to the hospital so casually, though, gave me all the more reason to believe that he's being honest.

If Tim has gone through trauma (and this is typical of a lot of trauma) he may have had trouble distinguishing between what is real, and what is not. So he might of forgotten, or he might not trust exactly what he remembers. Memories are freaky because you can form memories of things that did not happen to you, but you believe them to be real. Also trauma can fuck up you memory, even without any slenderatin'. He's still going to the doctor, and from that phone call in 58, it doesn't sound like he's better. He seemed a bit disappointed he had to keep going back.

If he's faking it, he may actually just be conflicted.

GUYS GUYS
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
JAY CURSED HE ACTUALLY CURSED. I don't think he's cursed once this whole time. He's becoming hardcore.
Wink

Anyways, I'd like to think Jay isn't derpy enough to just tell him "Oh yeah Alex is being controlled by a faceless supernatural horror and he hit people with blunt objects and killed this guy that may or may not have been named Bruce and took Brian's snacks." Because Tim will give Jay the number to his mental health doctor and head for the hills.

On the other hand, I imagine showing Tim those tapes will probably do...something terrible. Either Tim will be like "oh hell naw" and nope away or he'll decide to help. And either way, I foresee another slow descent to Maskyism.

I think he should go, "Hey Tim, there's this webseries on YouTube that I think you should watch...let me know whether or not you like it."

I don't remember Jay cursing, but when Tim went, "What the hell was that all about?" I was seriously like, "HELL TIM SAID HELL THAT'S LIKE, THE THIRD TIME SOMEBODY CURSED IN THE ENTIRE SERIES ASDFQEWFIOEUNIQERFQIERUNF."

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I know I've said this an infinite amount of times, but I just want to point out my appreciation for Marble Hornet's lack of bad language. They are perfectly effective without it, and it makes me feel a lot more comfortable watching a series that doesn't bother me or any other member of their audience by completely relying on cursing to make it sound realistic.

If anyone's familiar with a "Memory Gambit", you know it as a trope where a character deliberately erases specific memories from their minds completely, sometimes with a plan to remember them later, or sometimes never, but in either case, the 'gambit' part comes from it being part of their intended plan/goal.

What if Masky isn't a second personality, and what if Timnesia isn't something random or out of Tim's own control, two possibilities we focus on a lot? What if Tim deliberately somehow wiped his memories, and his subconscious is trying to tell him to be wary of the annex, etc., because he never wants to remember certain events or knowledge?

tl;dr, Tim caused his own amnesia, and Jay's screwing it up for him.

Side note: We know Jay has lost a couple memories from the filming of the student film, what if he did the same thing to himself 6 years ago after crap went down?

To be honest, it sounds a little far fetched, or grasping-esque, to me. It could always be a possibility, I guess, but there are just aren't enough indicators for me to really consider it. Can't imagine what Tim could have done to strategically erase very particular memories; sounds more like something from a sifi Marvel cartoon or something. I assumed right off the bat that he didn't remember the events from Entry #56/#57 because he got Operator'd.

It would be kinda dick of Tim to get pissed off. At least he's got his shit together now, as opposed to Jay, who, since trying to find and help Alex, has wound up a homeless amnesiac with a gun pointed at him. Hell, it was probably either Tim or the hooded dude that burned down his apartment anyway.

In any case, Tim's a victim of this mess as much as Jay is. Whatever else he is when he wears that mask, he deserves to know the truth about his own life.

Actually... if Jay wanted to show Tim the entries, he should show him the last parts of 57 and the one where Alex wants him to guess what's battery-powered.

You know, out of context, that last bit sounds really dirty. Razz Just sayin.

Out of game for a moment here, anyone notice that Joseph totally has a fanpic of him playing those awesome beats? Razz

I am so very glad I'm not the only one that thought that. Very Happy

Seconded. If you have to resort to heavy language every other sentence you probably don't have anything substantial to say.

Thirded. I don't get terribly offended by cursing, but I don't know anyone in the world who actually talks, for instance, like Noah from TribeTwelve. Most people I know only curse occasionally and for humorous effect. (
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Much like Troy and Co. do in their comedic videos.
) So MH seems way more realistic on that front.

Uhhhh if you had people break into your house while you were inside sleeping, were stalked by an organization of creepy looking psychopaths who followed you miles away from your house, and every lead you had turned up dead, you would most certainly be reacting more like noah, not like jay.

MH is more professional in it's storytelling because of a lack of cursing, but to say that TT is less realistic because of the cursing is odd to me because I find it to be more realistic. We look down on noahs constant cursing, but in reality, anyone in his position would be the same way.

Also realize that most of the time noah is cursing, it's because he knows the observer is nearby listening to him and he's aggrivated and scared. When noah says "fuck you," it's to get us to understand his frustration. We understand Jays frustration bc we know what's going on with him, but Noah certainly comes off as more angry and scared than Jay BECAUSE of the cursing imo. Adam doesn't strike me as the kind to write out a detailed script with dialogue, he seems more like the type to just go with the flow and wing it, which is why you hear so much cursing, because he doesn't have a memorized dialogue and his brain is subconciously stalling while he thinks of his next line

The average viewer of a slender series seems to be about 16 years old (physically and/or mentally) from what I've gathered from this site, and I don't think the MH crew want cursing to be a reason people aren't allowed to watch / stop watching it. That and the lazy writing thing they mentioned once. Whereas Adam doesn't care about that factor, because it's fitting with Noah's personality.

So yeah, while I don't enjoy that every other line is a curse all the time (i do feel that we are exagerrating a little bit), it does seem more realistic to me given the situation. We all know that Amy would have been screaming obscenities in 26 if the situation was real.

Sorry for the long post, just felt like people were overlooking the positives that come out of noah's reactions to things, and also comparing the two series unfairly in that aspect.

Hell is not a curse. Did your parents raise you that tight knit?
