No. Marble Hornets itself is not an ARG. The TTA videos however, are an ARG. But only just barely. They are meant to provide an interactive element to the story, but are not actually vital to the story itself.

If deciphering the code determines how soon (or late) we get the next MH entry, then I'm going to be spending the next few hours working on this code.

Only two possibilities really,

A.) Troseph really want us to figure that one out on our own before (possibly triggering) the next entry.

B.) They're setting up a story arc involving the hidden text, in which the cipher is revealed in 66 (and the clue possibly solved in a 66.5)

I'm leaning towards B.

I don't really see how a hidden message in a TTA video would trigger another entry, seeing as the context for the upcoming entry was already given at the end of 65, and now we're just waiting for them to actually go.

I'm thinking at this point that what we have here is Troy planting the seeds of a long-term hidden message, one that we won't be able to solve until we're given more clues or pieces of the puzzle, most likely in future TTA videos. It's probably something important, but we're not supposed to know what it means yet, and the reason Troy/Jay is tweeting about it so much is simply so we don't forget about it later on.

Oh boy. You realize it's self contradictory to say that the Marble Hornets series (as you did not say channel) does not contain any ARG elements and then state that TTA videos (undeniably a part of the series) "are an ARG".

This is inarguable. It's a logical contradiction, similar to saying a=b, a=c, b=/=c

Just pointing it out; and I'm not going to delve into the numerous problems of the 'vitality' arguments again...

Now, if you meant the conglomeration of it is 'not defined with' the ARG genre, I might be inclined to agree with you, as it is so much more just a video series with ARG elements. If so, I apologize for the misconception..

On topic, I may retract my previous statements. Maybe we really did not figure it out, and the tweet has given me the impulse to begin trying to solve the numbers. I almost hope that this isn't the case, though, as I'll be really sad if we aren't able to solve them and they remain a total mystery.

We've already discussed this at length in another thread. Go look for that. I laid everything out about how Marble Hornets is not an ARG and that the story exists separate from the TTA videos. I am not in the mood to repeat myself today. The forum has a search feature for a reason.

New tweet from J.

Maybe we, the fans, aren't supposed to be able to solve this, and J will.

I was thinking that maybe we shouldn be paying attention to his twits... maybe he is acting like he doesn't give a fuck and figuring conclusions in a really bad way in order to confuse us all :S

I don't really know what to think.

On one hand, it's always cool to see Jay possessing brain cells every now and then. On the other hand, why he would arbitrarily decide to care about this TTA riddle when he didn't care about the dozens that preceded it is beyond me. Maybe he's as bored with the long gap between entries as the viewers are, heh. It'll be really cool if this riddle actually ends up meaning something.

Yeah, I was thinking he's just passing the time, since he doesn't really have anything else to do. Maybe if or when it get's decoded, it will give Jay something else to do, while he waits for Tim to say "Okay, let's go".
