My first impression of this was "Oh, good. The first few minutes!" Then I got to thinking... "Wait, how many minutes could the tape be?"

Maybe it's one of Alex's self surveillance tapes or part of Marble Hornets filming with an Operator attack in there somewhere. Either way, the tape probably is between 30 minutes to 2 hours with lots of "useless footage". Maybe 6 to 12 minutes of "useful footage".

What if has something to do with what the fire department did with the Red Tower? Uncensored, maybe? Like, how Alex's "explanation" of what the Red Tower was for was audibly redacted.

I don't think what he said was important. If I recall correctly, the season 1 DVD has a version of Entry #5 without the audio distortion.

It unfortunately wasn't, and yes it did. Though we definitely need some kind of explanation about the tower...

Does anyone else find it strange that he didn't mention what's on the tape so far? I mean even something like "It seems to be footage of (whatever)"
