Since it is very likely that LA/Orange County/Inland Empire are considered one group (and San Diego will be getting it's own drop point/bookstore), I think its high time that we consider where they may decide to do the deed.
Some ideas, some of which are from the main thread:
- Culver City Downtown- The Hull Building/Comics Ink
As any TRON fan knows, the Hull Building served as the physical shooting location for Flynn's Arcade (the holes in the brick facade where the Flynn's sign once stood are still visible). There is a comic book store down the street, Comics Ink, which has been open since the 1980's.
- Pasadena Barnes & Noble
Address: 111 West Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91105
This B&N has been open since the early 80's, and is, literally, across the street from 42 Entertainment. A very likely candidate.
- Downtown Hollywood/Hollywood & Highland/Boulevard Books
Not only does Disney own or lease much of the land, e.g. El Capitan theater, there's a small bookstore down the street. No idea when it opened, though.

EDIT
Stinji, Infamous, Faeryqueen21, please PM me so we can coordinate.
I plan on being at the Starbucks at 117 W. Colorado around 7am on the 8th - which is right next door to the B&N listed above. Also within walking distance there are several other smaller bookstores that might be good candidates.
I've already gotten in contact with BlueTronWarrior (a fellow Riversidian) and will see if we are carpooling or meeting up down there.

Wanna use twitter with a custom # tag (#LAFlynn?) to track progress during the event? Pros = it's available on just about every phone which is good for the field, Cons = it's public and anyone else could use the intel.

Well, we could PM our respective groups and set something up if you want to keep it super secret and stuff LOL
I'm open to suggestions, and I can add specific columns to my TweetDeck to follow just that hashtag.

I think that would be the best thing to do, maybe the night before PM everyone listed above with the unique twitter page to follow.

I work in downtown Culver City so I will investigate the Hull Building and Comics Ink on Overland at lunch on Monday-Tuesday.
Keep in mind, 42E is watching our every move here, so if these haven't been planted yet, don't be surprised if they end up specifically someplace we haven't got good coverage by early next week (Lancaster, etc.).
Excited!

Perhaps it'd be smarter to choose a meeting location on here? So that everyone knows.

I'm in Torrance, and about 28 min from Culver City or Los Angeles. So I need a specific location to head to early in the morning that my friend can drop me off at.
I don't drive or have a laptop or mobile phone, just a cell phone.
I simply need a specific location to go to. Like the Hull Building in Culver City, or something.

PMs are fine to keep the noise level down in the forums a touch, but lets try to keep the plans open. Remember we want to encourage inclusion and engage more players.

I agree with Euchre. If we're committing to being a team, lets keep plans on the forum, make sure everyone's included
Comics ink is literally across the street from my house. Been going there for years. They don't have any incline towards TRON events at their store.
But the hull building, that does sound interesting as a tribute to the original... It's a few blocks west from Royal/T too. I think either the Hull building or near Royal/T would be a cool place for us westside folks to meet up on Wednesday morning. I can provide transport for those who need it.

Perhaps using the places in the OP as meeting points?
Downtown LA/area can use the bookstore/shopping center near 42E HQ.
Westside/OC can use the Hull Building.
IE can meet at, say, the Galleria?

The Valley people are already meeting near the Sherman Oaks Galleria, the IE/Pasadena people should meet at the B&N across from 42E, and the South LA/Culver City people should meet at Hull
