[Video] Advocate - Binary Clock Solution

I finally figured out the zero and dashes pattern in the Advocate video:

Its a binary clock.

Lets apply the binary clock to the zero and dash pattern in the Program video:

= 25 (2 in the tens column, 4+1 in the ones column)

Ominously, if we take the digits 25 1 13 1 and correlate them to the corresponding letters of the English alphabet, we get YAMA.

You, sir, are a genius. I was never that fond of mathematical or otherwise numerical puzzles, myself.

Now...any ideas as to what that time means?

Just throwing it out, but perhaps Brian was only alive that long after the Advocate video was taken?

I don't think (in this context) its a literal clock. The clock is just used to solve the puzzle (i.e., figure out the numbers).

I would assume TTA gave us the Advocate puzzle as a reference, as counting from 0 to 10 is just an exercise. Without that, you can't solve the Program puzzle.

I'm not sure but that may be the direction this is going. If so, then I would speculate that the chalk O+X symbol on the ground in Entry #13 and the drawings from Entry #8 could be sigils either of protection or summoning of SM.

Heh. I used to draw that same X-through-an-O symbol all the time when I was thirteen. It amused/surprised me to no end seeing it in the MH videos.

So, with tick tock upside down did you invert the binary sets to match? Or are you just using the tick tock as the reference to a clock counting down?

To be honest, i don't think the YAMA thing means anything... I have a feeling it's the name of a Death God par coincidence. Whether I am right or wrong, you are most definitely onto something with the Binary Clock.

I believe the phrase "tick tock" was a reference to use a binary clock as the basis for decoding the Advocate. The fact it was upside down didn't factor into it.

If we were to look at the zero and dash patterns upside down (which is essentially backwards), the numbers would become too big for our needs.

For example, the second set is:

00
00
00
0-

If we turn it upside down/flip it/reverse it, it becomes:

-0
00
00
00

Applying the binary clock to it, it becomes:

8 -0
4 00
2 00
1 00

= 80 (8 in the tens column)

80 is way out of the range for translation to an English alphabet character set.

If I was to speculate, I would say the phrase "tick tock" was either upside down as either, 1) a red herring, 2) an irrelevant stylistic choice, 3) in indication we were dealing w/ an unusual clock (i.e., in this case, the binary variety).

I'm just going where the clues point. I was really trying to avoid making any logic jumps as much as possible.

I agree, the binary clock is FTW. So that being legit, I applied it to the other clue that's in the same format, and YAMA is the result. Maybe that clue is still in a transitional state and we need to further transform/decode YAMA - I don't know.

What I do know is that YAMA isn't meaningless and it does bear some resemblance to what is going on here. It's not as if YAMA turned out to be a fertility god or the name of a unicorn. Smile

SM is depicted as having elongated/multiple limbs. That is very similar to the iconography of Hinduism (e.g., Vishnu and Shiva have multiple arms) and to Japanese mythology (e.g., shapeshifting obake).

Again, I'm not saying it is so, but I'm saying there are some interesting connections here.
