Anyone good with codes that could give the initial password (PFRDVJ5aLLg) a look? If we can decifer it then we might be able to find the next password.

(Since it was the ending of a youtube-video, I guess were out of luck, but we might aswell give it a try)

I'm not sure if this is any help, but in the DaVinci Disappearance add-on for Brotherhood, Ezio discovers a set of coordinates.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
43 39 19N 75 27 42W

The coordinates reveal a reservoir, which is connected to Black River near the village of Turin, in proximity to Whetstone Gulf State Park in New York - This location is roughly in the same area as one shown when Ezio uses his Eagle Vision after the Codex Pages are put together. Here's a pic of it: http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/g378/BlackWolfUK77/flickr.jpg

Connecting the above coordinates with Rome, New York to the South and Florence, New York to the West while measuring the approximate distances with Bing maps results in an almost perfect Pythagorean triangle. Here's another pic: http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l156/tuckerdwz2025/acbtrianglenotations.jpg

I was just fiddling around the AC wiki when I found this and remembered about this thread. I'm not sure if it's a trailhead yet, but it could be where AC3 is supposed to take place for when Desmond finally becomes a full fledged assassin. Maybe the reservoir has another PoE in it, or one of the temples that's supposed to prevent the Sun flare from destroying the planet? If I had the time, I would totally make the roadtrip out to the reservoir.

Ahh, lost this thread! Hope I'm not bumping a dead thread, but Ubiworkshop just released pictures of its upcoming AC encyclopedia. The shot of the spine, in particular, is interesting:

The first two lines in the left section of the spine are ASCII in the hex base. They are:

Quote:
(missing) 69 6C 65 64 2E 20 54 68 72 65 65 20 6C 69 76 65 73 20 6C 6F 73 74 2E 20 54 68 72 65 65 2D 6D 65 73 73 61 67 65 73 20 64 65 6C 69 76 65 72 65 64 3A

(missing) 20 74 68 65 20 77 61 72 6E 69 6E 67 2C 20 // ASSASSIN'S CREED ENCYCLOPEDIA 74 68 65 20 72 65 76 65 6C 61 74 69 6F 6E 2E

Which translates to:

Quote:
(missing)iled. Three lives lost. Three messages delivered:(missing) the warning, // ASSASSIN'S CREED ENCYCLOPEDIA the revelation.

Buggered if I know what it means, apart from being an obvious reference to AC:R.

As far as the other three lines (and all five in the right section) go, they look like file paths or references, using what I can only speculate is the Animus's file tree. They repeat, delimited by forward slashes (/), in a format that seems to include a date reference:

Quote:
SOURCE\S17.ANIMA.MMDDYYYY.(alpha-numeric string of variable length)

The use of the word 'ANIMA' throws me, though; it may just be a substitute for 'ANIMUS', but (going by my reading on Wiki: see http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/anima, http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/animus)might also refer to a male/female dichotomy, or perhaps some other Jungian psychological dichotomy. I'm not a psych major, and that's stretching speculation anyway.

This may just be Ubi being slick, but it's something!

EDIT: this may be cheating a bit, but I was digging 'round in the source code of the Abstergo 'intranet' at www.abstergoindustries.com/portal and found a file reference indicating that it's set up as a WordPress installation. So if anyone has a user/pass that they don't know what to do with, they may be able to plug it into http://abstergoindustries.com/portal/wp-login.php (#justsaiyan).

anima - female version of animus - implying, possibly, a female central character this time rather than another male?

I wondered that - or perhaps it refers to some aspect of the machine itself? It's known that in AC:R Desmond is trapped in the 'Black Room', which is supposed to be some sort of low-level interface of the Animus that subjects fall into from the 'White Room'. After reading the Wiki articles I mentioned, I wondered whether this could be a reference to either gender or the split between man's rationality and man's 'baser instinct', as Wiki put it. Or perhaps Abstergo has a modified Animus... or perhaps it's just a synonym.
