I email t have my twitter updated and asked a question about SAVER's 3000 patents. Just recieved this:

Quote:
Hello Siats,

I have updated your account. Looks like the addition of the twitter account has upgraded your rank to 2! We kind of figured that was the case yesterday, and yours seems to be no different!

As far extra dimensional ghosts and demons and things, I have no idea. It doesn't make any sense to me, but I don't get paid to think about those things and I'm not sure I want to know, haha. The fact is, you probably understand that kind of stuff better than me so I can't help you much there unfortunately.

I blame the wackiness on Eric to be honest Razz

I signed up for "development" using the most mercenary-like application I could think of, essentially saying "I can't tell you what I do, but I'm pretty sure you want it."

I have been accepted as an agent within 24 hours of applying.

Can someone re-cap what's going on here? I have no idea, and only filled out the application because it was there. Razz

A strange, slightly pompous government contractor is recruiting gamer nerds (us) in order to better prepare gadgets for the zombie apocalypse and to counter ongoing unspecified supernatural threats for the State Department. We have all put in our applications and been accepted as 'Agents', and in approximately one week, we will be meet our department leaders, and presumably be tasked to finally answer the ultimate question: Psychic Jack Bauer vs. Vampire James Bond, who will win?!

On Twitter.

Or something like that.

Totally jumping in a on this. I've been a lurker for over a year, so why not?

Just sent my application and totally touted my writing, drawing, and research skills. Also highlighted my ability to read and write Arabic, as well as speak basically in the language. I applied for Research and Development, so we'll see what happens.

This shall be fun guys!

Ofiuco, your sum up made my night. For the record, Vampire James Bond would easily kicks anyone's butt. Just saying.

More contact with Victoria. I tried to see if any of the heads of departments had twitter accounts, but no such luck. I did manage to get the head of Development's email, but she advised me against emailing until he initiates contact. If anyone here is brave enough to try... I like my current Rank 2 status Razz

A couple things about our favorite CEO/CIO. I'll quote for this bit.

Victoria wrote:
Jared is great, he's really energetic and friendly. He's known Eric for a year or so from what I heard as Eric has contracted for SAVER on and off apparently. He's great, everyone likes him!

I couldn't tell you about Eric as I have never met him. I have seen him a few times, but that's it. From what I hear he is kinda arrogant, which I would have guessed anyway. Apparently I might get a chance to meet him here in the near future for some company function... we'll see though.

Also, she mentioned being busy, so I asked if there was anything I could help with, or if it was all new recruit stuff. Apparently there have been internal disputes and injuries in the field. I'm not sure if the second is just the usual things you'd expect from a fairly high risk job (assuming that these aren't Research/Development agents) or if there are more then usual, but internal disputes are always something to look into.

Should I post both the emails verbatim on here too? I can if anyone wants them.

EDIT: I forgot the email >< The Head of Development is one Brad Leard and he can be reached at bleardSPLATsaver.co

This sounds exciting, I'm liking the supernatural rpg aspects.
Just applied detailing my experience as a game designer and player of various RPG's, and noting my knowledge of various mythologies (which is sort of an obsession of mine).

New Tweet from Eric Newold:
Quote:
Our field agents returned from Arkansas this morning. We'll be looking over their findings later today regarding the bird deaths there.

Making connections to current real-world events, I like that!

While they're at it, they can look in to the mass fish deaths.

ETA: How did I get a rank of 2 in development?!?

Got an email late last night from Victoria when I asked about Department Heads. She warns to no communicate with the Research or Development Heads, but the PR head (Media) is ok.

Quote:
Hello again Agent Morrison,

I'm again trying to make my way out the door, but yes I can quickly tell you who the department heads are (at least those that the new agents will be working under)...

Jean Evans, VP of Public Relations (she will be in charge of those on the Media team)
Nelson Fuller, VP of Research
Brad Leard, VP of Development

If you want to add your lead's email address to your whitelist, we use the standard first initial last name for email addresses (see mine for example). With that said, I have to officially state that you should not contact them before they contact you. Jean probably wouldn't care, but Mr. Leard might and Mr. Fuller would most certainly.

Have a good night!

Hi Daniel,

We do not have a number we can give out. Eric has decided that it's best if we limit the means of incoming contact to the company. For the most part, as far as he's concerned, no one needs to contact the company. The people who want to contact us know how to contact him, etc etc. It's kinda stupid, but what can you do.

Eric is a very private man, for obvious reasons, and has been able to keep a lot of information about him off the internet, etc. Here in HR we assume he has changed his name a few times in his life, it's hard to say. We don't get access to his files (not that we want to access them). He was in the military (army I think?) at some point and worked for various contractors including Blackwater (Xe now) before starting SAVER.

He started SAVER a year or two ago or so (I have only been here a few months) but it only recently took the name "SAVER" (not sure what it was before that). I have only seen him in person a few times, and have never spoken to him. We're not to ask about him here at the office, so keep that in mind, hehe.

Anyway, hope that helps. I know it's not much but that's about all I have.

I'm in on this too, gave a little information, and real background (military experience). I was accepted yesterday. I just sent an update email to have my name corrected and list RPG experience. I started with D&D and Star Wars RPG, then listed several big name video game RPGs. We'll see where that gets me.

btw, 3 twitter accounts now:
@savercorp
@ericnewold CEO
@SAVER_jared CIO

I've been using the #savercorp hashtag in tweets.
