RE: Episode 6 Analysis

Sorry for jumping into this without having the full background yet but does the giant monkey have any significance?

Specifically at the end of the episode he grabs Mulligan while he is yelling, "he thinks I'm a woman!!!". They then run off camera.

This seems to be a reference to King Kong? It is probably a stretch but King Kong did steal a woman and take her to the Empire State building...

Here's an example:

This has been mentioned before. I think it's possible that this is a clue. However, I don't see any other connection with that part of Manhattan in this episode.

The video pauses on this panel for a few seconds. The things of note are the angel with the cross, the diamondback snake (again), and the # of buttons on Capt. and Crothers. In this panel it becomes obvious that The Captain's character is based on The Punisher. He is using dual pistols and has a skull on his hat. That gives us the following Marvel characters for this comic:

The Captain = The Punisher
Crothers = Wolverine
Black Tom = Spider-Man
Mulligan = ???

It's unclear if Mulligan is based on any Marvel Comic character. It looks like Tom is holding onto Mulligan's strap. This is Spider-Man-esque. Spidey often snags people with his webs and tows them.

Thanks for enlarging these it really helps.
Geez haven't read comics in ages.
Angel with cross: cemetery, God like creature, guardian angel.
Serpent: Glen Beck LOL! Evil, event in history that had a lot of death (cemetery).
Good vs evil.
We got 4, 4, & 2.
Mulligan helpless needs to be saved??

not sure I'm too confident in this theory, but worth a mention if nothing else other than to keep conversation going...

Marvel's main offices are located in NYC
http://maps.google.com/maps/place?client=safari&rls=en&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=marvel+nyc&fb=1&gl=us&hq=marvel&hnear=New+York,+NY&cid=10154041973100997840

Alternatively, there are at least two Midtown Comics stores that I know of that could be significant.

The plus side of this theory is that it fits more in line with the episode 1 clues. The down side is that there is so much attention to the comic itself, that I doubt it could be this simple. Thoughts?

I thought of that too and the locations since I saw them but, I think we are looking for much more detailed decoding. The reason is because it is so detailed and obscure compared to the first two-three episodes. Put together what is going on in the panels and look up what they represent. Some of it is interesting. Who needs formal education when we have this treasure hunt? I now know more about NYC and other things then I did in school. LOL!

I believe gorilla in the cabin is the clue not king kong, I have it matched to a spot on the path after the snake and right before ep 4.
The cemetery stands for death.....the snake on my path is at a place associated with death.
I really do think I have the right path.....there is something I am missing though or just not seeing because I am not in NY.
IMO these clues are being over analyzed.....they should work simply like they show us in ep 1.

I'd also like to add that the snake on my path is cut into pieces where it is Smile

I agree 100%, everything should be straightforward if you are at the correct location. Go back to the 'feel' of the previous episodes: look in your general vicinity while considering the clues and everything all of a sudden makes sense. And keep in mind that sometimes there is a decoding involved, such as morse code in ep. 1, or translating Tom's japanese into lamppost numbers in ep. 2... look for these kinds of 'simple codes', not obscure comic book references

I also think that only the verbal clues are the necessary ones, they tell you where to go, while there are other clues that 'confirm' that you are on the right track. For instance, the snake is actually never mentioned, but if you are following the verbal clues correctly, you will see that exact, cut-up diamondback snake on your path (as I have seen, as well as missry and others)

Captain - Punisher
Black Tom - Spiderman
Crothers - Wolverine ... more so Patch style Wolvie

Mulligan makes me think of Thor visually .. btwn the blonde hair, gimmicky hat, and muscles.

Not a ton of blonde super heroes ..expecially in Marvel. Captain America was revealed to be blonde when he was unmasked for whatever that's worth.

I found something interesting yesterday. This might just be a coincidence. On the cover, Tom is doing a Crane Kick from the Karate Kid. On the second page, he has 5 fingers out on one hand and he is pointing with the other. There is a Crane Street in Queens. It's only one block long. On that street is 5 Pointz Aerosol Art Center.

I like this because:
- I've found other one block street references
- It's a small detour off a path that I have
- It's an art related hint. It's not a stretch that the artists may be familiar with the place.

I'd have to find surrounding clues before I become more confident with it, but I thought it was worth a mention.

Just want to say you are doing a great job!. Just so you know the puzzle does have major decoding in it. If all 8 videos were as easy as the first 2 (which by the way do also have decoding in them) People on here including myself would have found this treasure a long time ago. There is a reason we all haven't. So yes, there is major decoding. May not be a lot in all 8 but, there is.
Yes, I found Crane Street in Queens the other day. These are artist. Artist think and do outside the box. It is in our blood.
Tom is a visual kind a guy. He doesn't talk.

soldier panel

I'm skipping ahead to the soldier panel. Here it is:

The dual forts in the background have been mentioned. I also think the insignia on the cap of the bottom left soldier is important as well. As far as I can tell, the British Army didn't have this type of insignia. This looks more like the insignia for a captain in the US Army. It could mean that this soldier was an american spy. Some of the soldiers look very similar to one another as well. Perhaps this is in reference to famous brothers in the British Army. Perhaps the Howe Brothers.

Morse code again. Question is what is really dots and dashes on this page?
I'm thinking that the left soldier is more morse code. What does the wedding ring represent? Something to do with weddings or commitment? Some of soldiers have dots, some dashes on their sashes. The soldier upfront has a giant X on his chest. Do you think the ring is a dash or not? Twin-doubles? There are four quads? Two sets of two? Oh wait. Is the solider to the far right also a twin of the one up front? They look sort of similar?? So do we now double all of the dots and dashes? I meant triple?

I hope Not!

Just a thought: Does anyone think that Tom's black strips on his arms/legs/hand are any sort of letter or morse code?

After re-doing research the past week I think the snake is NOT a visual play on a road, store, or a subway line.
