Hurrah, a shiny (if slightly tainted) new thread. Maybe I won't be too intimidated to post here.

I don't find it that unbelievable that Vinnie could've just left his phone there. I've left stuff at my friends' houses with embarrassing frequency. I don't know how it would've gotten into the closet, though, unless Alex regularly stuffs things in there to pretend his room is clean. Laughing

The Rake might have dragged into the closet by accident, or got distracted by t3h sh1nee and took it to play with. HABIT implied that it can't text, and I'm inclined to believe him.

I like the theory of the Rake being a bit more animalistic than the other baddies, despite the original creepypasta. Just because it has some sentience doesn't mean it needs to know how to use a phone.

I wonder if the Rake might be a red herring -- like, the Rake having the phone doesn't make a whole lot of sense in my mind. What if one of the other boys in that house left it there? Could it cast doubt on another of our heroes, perhaps?

It was stolen right out of Vince's back pocket when his back was turned, of course. Rake was clearly trying to call down stairs to warn someone that he accidentally switched the salt jar with the sugar jar after making some midnight coffee the night before.
