They went to a different universe or universe or something. The room is arranged differently. It's a universe where the rake wasn't screwing Alex's bedroom up o_O

I can't think of anything else that makes sense other than "The rake neatly rearranged Alex's room, except for a trashcan."

Okay. I'm home, I am slugging fruity girly flavored Smirnoff, I am playing David Bowie's "Low," and I am totally ignoring my film work due tomorrow. I am ready.

First things first: The video. Not much to add that others haven't, but I intend to ask the boys a few things about it - I can't tell if the footage from 77 (going "in circles," near the tree) is something they remember or not. Does their memory black out after Vinnie was called? Did I miss a detail there?

Also a good question - why Alex was still armed. Perhaps because he is not one of the 4 and not marked the same way. SM and co. may not have the same hold on him as the others. Incidentally, the "armor" and weapons were adorable. Straight out of The Monster Squad or The Goonies. Now I'm dating myself. That was the shit when I was little; I had such a crush on Sean Astin.

I also need to ask them if they always recall the crawlspace being there. Because now it's just a wall, right? No boards? Just a wall? These things can make a hole where they like, when they like. Shades of Phantasm.

Also, probably unintentional but wonderful homage to Twin Peaks with the shot of the ceiling fan.

Now, as to my email. Again, nothing big, or maybe - I don't know yet. I asked permission to show their response, I haven't heard back but I doubt they'll mind. Here's what they had to say.

Holy fucking hell. Okay, watched it twice, here's some of my thoughts...

- When they first go into the room, we see the same kind of abrupt jump cuts that were seen in Alex when they first encountered the Rake. That, combined with the smell, makes me think that the Rake was still around at that point.

- The paper that Jeff found looks like 1/4 of a piece of paper. TNC, have you received your prize from HABIT yet, and if so, was it another 1/4 of the page? There's three rounds in the TRIALS, and HABIT said that there will be a winner declared for Round 2. We're missing 3 pieces of that page.

- The film skips when Evan says "somebody up there likes us"; it's the same kind of skip that was seen at the very beginning of Self-Defense, when Vinnie says "Ev's gonna be joining us, wherever he is".

- Finally, the teleportation house. I'm thinking with portals here, but I think the house probably is a... connecting site, I guess, for a bunch of portals that cross space and time. We've seen that house take the gang from a park in the middle of the day to a beach in the middle of the night, and now it had a mystery tunnel of teleportation from Jeff's house back to it. Also, from The Hidden Videos, we know that the Corenthal Children got "lost" because they went through a door. Maybe there was a connection back out in 1970's Ohio that brought them here?

Christ. It's nearly 1 a.m., I need to sleep so I can work, but I am both wired and mildly terrified of turning off the lights. Yeesh.
