Hi, shy lil derp. Yeah, I hit on the same timeline question about the kids/our gang that you did a few days ago when I started writing my letter. The time span is way too coincidental. We're thinking just about the exact same thing.

I looked at it from a different angle when I wrote to Jeff, though, just for the sake of not being shut out, offending them or driving anyone crazy - instead, I suggested to him they look for ways to prove to the entities stalking them that they and the Centralia children are not one and the same by researching the Centralia children but also looking for parallels and discontinuity in their own lives and pasts vs. those kids. And I think it's just as potentially likely that the gang are not the same children, and that perhaps that's the right way to play it. So in doing this, we all gain more information, both for our theory or the one I reiterated to Jeff. The resulting discoveries should be the same.

I guess I'm one of the only ones who still thinks there was some time fuckery when they went through the crawlspace?
It's just that this video was really obviously made like, months in advance and they just recently showed a video where there was a lot of snow everywhere (and ice, fucking ice today). I just feel like there's a reason for the obvious difference in weather.
But who knows anyway?

Does anyone else find it strange that they can smell the Rake when they first go into Alex's room but don't find it at all? They also mention that the crawlspace smells and I think Jeff said that it was sticky. I don't know about anyone else but the sticky tunnel bit reminds me of Coraline. Maybe the tunnels themselves are alive and helping the Rake escape the boys by diverting them to the basement of the house rather than sending them to where the Rake actually lives?

Just a thought, but the House might actually not want to harm them but not help them either.

As for the timescrew thing, do we know exactly when this footage was first mentioned? I think they talked about having it already before the hidden videos clip went up. They might have had it for a while and only posted it now.

Okay, here's my two cents, make of it what you will:

The basement of the house they appeared in looking different, the connection with the 77 and 78 videos, the difference in weather, Alex's room going from messy to clean, the disappearance of the crawlspace; I think that for one reason or another, their existence/their plane of existence is unstable. Perhaps the presence of Slendy, what with him being an eldritch horror and all, disrupts our world because he's not meant to be here (a theory mentioned in a blog I've read before, I believe). Perhaps it's due to something else.

One way or another, little things keep changing and shifting, as if they're abruptly jumping between worlds or time-lines. I haven't read HoL, so I unfortunately can't make a comparison with that, but if you consider the idea of quantum theory's infinite dimensions, where every possibility exists on different planes of existence, perhaps they're sliding between realities.

I was thinking that maybe there was a tear or disruption of sorts in the craw space, and they ended up in another time-line, one that's only slightly different- where possibly the craw space never existed, or their reaction to the Rake being there was to seal up the wall, thus they never made the advance to reclaim Alex's room, so Evan never actually took his knife. As for the bat, perhaps it simply didn't exist in this time-line, so it was removed? Anyways, how this might apply to everything else I'm not entirely sure, as my brain has exploded from information-overload, but that's my epileptic tree you could say.

Does anyone remember my little theory about water being a portal of sorts? Maybe, to add to it, the properties of water create a more stable portal between dimensions or what-have-you. I dunno, this new video kind of blew my mind.

Edit: Just to ask a question, why is it that when you guys reference HoL, you type the word House in blue? Is it a reference to the book itself? Just curious.

I am adamantly against this idea that they are in the House. This is an original story, and while they surely use lots of references and elements of other things, and have many homages, there is no way this is just a HoL fanfic. It's almost offensive to suggest it- and you are forgetting an important fact-
HOW WOULD THAT EXPLAIN ANYTHING. AT ALL. XD
It would not. I am caps-ing for humor here, but I mean think about it. Even if it was SIMPLY the House, not even a HoL story, what would that have to do with anything? Why would it have to be a part of the story? It would do nothing for the plot, merely create a loose end that would never possibly be tied up. In the end, it definitely has a lot of similarities as far as this new video, but the House never sent people to different places, just deeper into itself (wherever that may be), and Slenderman, on the other hand, seems to enjoy alien geometries. It's a normal Slenderman Mythos concept, that need not be explained by HoL.
