I never really mentioned this because I always thought that maybe it was supposed to be one of those things we over looked in game, but I thought in one video they showed that Alecs room was UPSTAIRS, meaning a crawlspace would have never been there.

Not true actually, I've got an upstairs bedroom, and I have two crawlspaces. (One in my room-proper and one in my closet.)

I seem to recall some discussion of this in the original thread, because I had thought the same thing as AlecZeal. As near as I can tell, there are either regional differences in what "crawlspace" means or "crawlspace" can mean a couple of different things.

Where I grew up, at least, "crawlspace" meant the space between the lowest floor of the house and the foundation--this was in an area where basements were very uncommon. I gather that in other areas "crawlspace" refers to any interstitial space between proper rooms. Is that about right?

(Don't get me started on what "barbecue" means.)

I grew up in a turn of the century Maryland home, and the attic with creepy spiral staircase was my bedroom loft. There was indeed a terrifying crawlspace storage area set in one wall.

Good point. My crawlspaces are in the "eaves" of the house. My bedroom-proper space gives limited access to the attic and the closet-space gives access to the water heater.

An old home with creepy rooms and a crawlspace on the eastern seaboard...I'm sorry, I can't help but think how much more awesome it would be if I lived in the set-up to an H.P. Lovecraft story or Stephen King novel like you apparently do. =(

Oh, I moved out some time ago, but yes, as a preteen King nut that house fired the imagination.

but there is no such thing as a crawspace. Embarassed

I wouldn't get too hung up on the space not being there in the previous videos. It's not there because there isn't one irl

I think you just explained it. D: It disappeared, because as a crawspace, it never existed in the first place.

Of course! Simple and elegant, and as retrospectively obvious as ATA/DTD. (More congrats to whoever figured that out.)

Ouroboros has a good point as well, naturally.

More on-topic, somebody a few pages back offered the idea that Jeff's burned school may have been Fairfield, and served as the nexus between Corenthal times and contemporary times for at least Jeff. I'm not quite sure that works, since "Reunion" suggests that the burned school is within easy driving distance of wherever the boys live today. That only discounts it being Fairfield, of course; it could still be the nexus, I guess, if there is one.

I do think there's more to that childhood fire - another Centralia 4 parallel - but I hadn't thought of it being an entry point for timefuckery. Besides, if we go down that road, the kids would've been our gang's age by 1981. Now Jeff's school appears to actually exist, so maybe they repeated the same/similar trauma in the present...I don't know.

The Centralia 4 succumbed apparently at or around EMH'S age. They were traumatized by an incident with fire.

Jeff was tramatized by fire. He and the others are now roughly the age the Fairmount kids were in '81.

And both Fairmount and the Baldpate Mountain park are full of acres of former farmland.

...what happened to Farmount again?

Struggling to do this on my android. Okay. Fairmount burned down. Jeff went on a trip to a burnt down school he remembered from childhood and found Corenthal's papers.

What if he wasn't where he thought?

What if there is no school?
