Assuming the Rake was an agent or at least acting on the will of HABIT to destroy the paperwork Jeff had, we can assume that he has nothing to do with the other letters and boxes sent out, right? Why would he get rid of information about Corenthal...only to send us info?

maybe it wasn't time yet for us to get info?

Unless that paperwork explains a lot of our mysteries. We don't know why Jeffrey was sent to Fairmount, after all.

What was the timeline on the boxes vs. the Rake destroying Jeff's findings?

I believe HABIT sent the boxes b/c he wants us to know. Not Jeff and company, though.

ETA: Is Demongel still around? Trying to put my epileptic tree about Jeff's school/Fairmount to rest, I was googling looking for pix of the interior of the Fairmount Children's Home to compare against Jeff's burnt out school and sure enough one of the Google results is a post of his from some time ago saying the interiors look strikingly similar. I can't find any interior shots of Fairmount. Still looking.

Oh, look, exactly one.

I really do have other shit to do but one more thought, perhaps the significance of all these locations we're juggling is simply the linkage of the fire-related disasters. Is SM emulating the same scene over and over and over in different locations, reenacting it? The mental hospital burned, Steph's house, Jeff's school (assuming it's real), Fairmount, maybe those houses on Baldpate, Centralia, the Brooklyn warehouse. Starting with Centralia?

Oh shit.

There was totally a reference to a fire on Baldpate when I was looking for stuff on it.

Looking at the amount of fire references we have, coupled with the water references in CYSTW(which confuses me,btw. Steph doesn't really talk negatively of water, but if we're to believe that lowercase tweeter is Slendy, rain just means he's near) maybe we have two directly opposing elemental beings converging on the gang, thus the lack of clear motivation on the antagonists part.

edit: here it is.

It's certainly not a fire of any magnitude when compared to the other ones. And I'm sure that it's related to the game at all, but it is a little creepy that it happened just days before Jessa disappeared.

I dunno, I don't go in for the BATTLE OF THE MONSTERS shit. I think it's all Slendy whether it's rain or the fires.

Excuse me, I have to do this one time:

Through the darkness of future past
The magician longs to see
One chants out between two worlds
Fire, walk with me.

Okay, bored at work.

So I'm watching the old UStreams.

Specifically, the 7/24 one. At some point while Evan is doing his crazystuff, they ask him what he thinks about Steph. He says she's cute and Jessa mentions that she hasn't seen her.

She doesn't really acknowledge Steph at all during the stream.

I know it's a "I know her from school" thing and there is a chance that Jessa actually hadn't met Steph yet (I don't know when classes start, but it's probably not until August.)

So are to believe that Jessa and Steph become superfriends in the two weeks or so before Jessa's disappearance?

EDIT: I guess looking at the timeline, Steph tweeted on 7/31 about connecting with someone. That's probably Jessa. So we're looking at about a little over a week before she disappears.

I wonder if it wasn't a case of Jessa being taken away from Jeff, but Jessa being taken away from Steph.

Well since we are tending our trees, what if Steph and Jessa didn't connect, but reconnect. Considering that the EMH crew has some deep connection to some other time/some other kids/something, isn't it possible that Steph and Jessa have had a similar connection? This would explain why Jessa was taken. She's important somehow.

On the other hand, the exact opposite could be possible. Jessa was achieving a close connection to two of the Fairmount Four and she wasn't involved. This could have made her an unacceptable wildcard so she was selected for death/maskification/hallowing/hugs/&c.

Also I took another look at the I'm Okay video (Jeff version) and Reunion and, oddly enough, it seems like Jeff never told his friends about the fire at his school. That's odd, wouldn't you think? When did this fire happen? Was it before he met his friends?

The way he described it in I'm Okay, ("I don't like thinking about it," or, "...and they left me there. They just left me there to die. I was a kid") I thought it sounded like he was traumatized by the incident and didn't really tell anyone. In this case he was probably only telling the viewers because he found the medical records there, which was an important discovery.

Okay. But, that does date the incident as happening before he met Vince & Evan, right? Because if they hung out together, they'd know. My question is, does anyone know when the guys met?

Jeff and Vinnie have known each other since the Stone Age, but they didn't meet Evan until high school.

Okay... so I've isolated exactly which building in the Baldpate satellite imagery is "The House."

In "Taking it back" at when they come up out of the basement Jeff pans around a bit. At 4:52 you can see that there is a building directly across from the one they came out of. And at 4:54 he pans left left and you can see a white building. From looking at photos of those houses the white building has a greenhouse at the end of it, towards the left of the satellite photo, which you can see in the video. Which means that the building they keep going to is the one I've marked. (If anyone was curious. Wink )

Expert sleuthing. Smile Can the knowledge be put to any use, I wonder? I fear it may only be a convenient creepy abandoned house. We know that the EMH crew are fans of Weird Jersey, and probably built EMH around creepy sites they had access to (OOG, obviously).

@SickSlickMan

Thanks.

I know I keep going on about this, but if Jeff and Vince were BFF since time began, shouldn't have Vince known. Jeff may have not told him, but can you keep an event like that secret as it happens?

The whole school fire episode and Jeff's road trip seem oddly disconnected from the rest of the show. And it is odd that they found clues (medical records and the Linnie letter) twice in such an unlikely place. The letter I can perhaps accept, but it is unlikely that sensitive materials, like medical records, are just left lying around in an abandoned building for anyone to find.

What irks me is that I don't know if this is a plot hole (in which case I want to stop digging, because I rather like EMH and don't want to ruin my enjoyment) or signs of inconsistencies that may point to divergent timelines, alternate universes and all that good stuff.
