They used Shankill Butchers by The Decemberists in the Alex video. The connection there should be pretty obvious, it's a creepy song, haha. They also used Alone Down There by Modest Mouse in the same vid as The Rake's Song. Also pretty creepy.


Huh, I didn't even notice the Modest Mouse one, they are like my favorite band, though besides the blatant use of Animal Collective, The Decemberists seem to have been an underlying basically sound track to everything that has happened to them so far, seeing as music has been a pretty big connection so far in the series, it might be something to keep an eye on...

Wow, this is definitely a band I need to keep up with -- their stuff is gorgeous. Sorry to make an obvious comment, but I don't want this to get buried under GF's return --

They obviously pick their music with care, and if we can't find obvious clues in songs we can at least pick up on overarching themes.

I'd like the oppritunity to get into the heads of them as individuals, as opposed to, "This is what's been happening with us lately, etc." Clearly whatever is fucking them has planted its seed in their minds, and we all know nightmares can be quite revealing.

Well the dream thing opens up a lot of possibilities, and with the emphasis that had been placed upon it earlier in the series (even if only for 1-2 episodes), i'd be sad to see it dropped for good.

Okay, I have never listened to The Decemberists, never even heard of them until this series, but their music is awesome.

Didn't somebody forever ago make a list of the bands used in the series and the songs that related to it? I remember something like that being posted. Perhaps we should find it and use it.

I need to check out Animal Collective too. Hrm.

Sometimes dreams are the clearest window into a real life situation. The fact alone that lucid/vivid dreams can seem as real as memories may reveal the opposite, the dreams are memories.

Or something like that, I feel like I'm just rambling.

 		Yeah, I always thought the "dream" bit was something huge that was kind of dangled in front of us. Heh. Perhaps we should aim our attentions on that again. It indeed provided a very interesting look into the individual mind of Evan, and Vinnie too, briefly. For some reason I remember someone mentioning it and Jeff replying that he/they don't even dream at this point. I may have completely fabricated that unconsciously or read it in something else, but it might be worth one more poke soon.

Okay, now just covering my bases here-
