I agree we need to keep thinking on ways to talk back, if there is anything to talk to. It's not like we have anything else to do.

I largely agree with this. I do tend to look for double and triple meanings in things though. I have a hard time trusting things at face value. Especially in situations like this.

I'm not going to pretend to know what could be sending those to us if not HABIT, or if it comes from the past, the future, another universe, another timeline, if it's our guys, if it's their parallel counterparts, or whatever. I can't begin to grasp that. All I do know is I'd like to see if there is anyone out there or if we can send a message.

It won't work asking EMH to do anything. They can't see the hidden videos.

Another thought. What if the last phantom tweet ("please stop watching us?") did come from the Ark/WTTAverse? What if we sent a response tweet back?

When qaqa mentioned it a few posts previous I experienced Mind Screw of epic proportions. I now have to rework everything I thought I knew in light of this 'new' stuff.

veljko, you've nothing to apologize for, you're completely on-topic and your posts are always incredibly insightful. I was just teasing you a little. I'm sorry to hear about your illness and I hope you're feeling better.

If you go back a bit, you should find the working theory some of us have about HABIT and all this - that he is using the trials to try and escape the cycle's prophecy of the Firebrand burning 'both selves,' which he may have experienced before. Some of us suspect he is using the trials to gain a new host, by dehumanizing the Rabbits. A couple of us, I think, myself included, have tried approaching him about some of this, to no apparent avail.

The theory does sound interesting in that it gives a motivation to a character(?) that didn't appear to have any beyond a sort of generalized air of psychopathy. I'd just like to throw this into the mix: Ash => Ash Tree => Yggdrasil => Norse Mythology => Fated outcomes of possibly cyclic events that some try to avoid. Would be reaching but HoL plays with similar connections (insofar as sense can be wrung out of it).

If you want to encode a short message base64-over-twitter may work, but I can't imagine why you think that would help.

If you want to encode a video that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish. Videos are huge and you'd run into the 140 character limit hard. You could try and split the file into many many many tweets but if you tried I do think that Twitter system administrators would show up at your door not a minute later. Armed.

Why not just a regular old tweeted message? Or link to a reply? The worst that happens is we've all looked like idiots, and I do that over EMH at least twice a day already.

Not to be cliche but there is always "who or what are you, [date/time of phantom tweet]?" Or "why should we stop watching, [same]?"

Cryptic tweets do bring out the worst in me. On the plus side they make me imagine what HoL would be like if it had to be squeezed into 140 characters at a time.
