Evan might be mistaking it for something else.

Nice catch Pasdio!

Pasdio, that's a good point. In the context I'm almost more willing to believe ash or tar over a very specific kind of blood. All the same, Idunno, I guess we'll see. Great work either way!

I don't want to get too metagamey, but I have a feeling that they were denying that it was blood of any kind, probably as a setup for something else.

Definitely not denying it could be something else entirely...
I just wanted to look into it and see if there were a more reasonable (As reasonable as vomiting blood can be.) explanation as to why Vinnie's vomit was so dark.

Black, brown or red, I think blood would always taste like blood, no? Since it was in Vincent's mouth, we'd have to ask him what it tasted like. Unless he specifically told Evan that it wasn't/didn't taste like blood.

True enough.
Anyone up to shootin' Vinnie an email about it? I'd do it, but I have no kind of email relationship with the guys....and, we have been pestering them a lot lately....so...
Just imagine how awkward that message will be. "O hai Vin, I know you vomited and passed out recently. But could ya let us know what it tasted like? kthnx."

If you want to come up with the email, I'll shoot it off. (They've never answered me before, but its worth a shot. Very Happy)

It might help to remember that it was Jeff holding the mystery object, not Vinnie.

I also maintain it must be a Geiger counter, but that's just my opinion.

It definitely had a meter on it, could have been anything from a barometer, to an EMF detector, to a geiger counter. But I doubt a geiger counter, those things aren't cheap (even the "cheap" ones will mill you around 150 bucks), and that's not something you just have sitting around the house unless somebody you know works with ionizing radiation on a regular basis, and even then it's probably strictly for work/school purposes.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but back in the '90s my father picked up a couple of geiger counters in an odd lot he won at a government-surplus auction. I have no idea if they were functional since the lot didn't include any uranium, but the prop the guys used could have been a busted unit and we'd never know any different.

If they were operational, they'd pick up radiation regardless. The world's covered in the stuff. Check your banana drawer.

Good point. I'd always assumed that they were calibrated to only start registering near-dangerous levels of radiation, but that's probably just the influence of too many sci-fi movies.

Although a little checking shows that what we had were these things, which apparently weren't true geiger counters after all but "were ion-chamber radiological survey meters capable of measuring only high levels of radiation that would be present after a major nuclear event."

(And "banana drawer" sounds perverse.)

It's very flattering that you think I can concoct an email that won't be almost exactly the same as that awkward example.

EDIT: Done. Thanks, they're going to think I'm fucking insane.
