It all looked like blood, and there wasn't any darkness to make it ambiguous. I think we're safe in assuming that its blood.

Hey [qaqa,]

It's Vin, I can tell you with all certainty that whatever I coughed up was not blood. It was completely black and tasteless, the consistency was a strange mix of syrup and ash. I don't know what happened but I am sure HE caused it. I haven't had an episode since then.

Vince

Damn. Blows my pudding theory out of the water.

It's a little disturbing that Vince styled "HE" in all caps, although it could just be for emphasis. Fingers crossed that it's that innocent.

EDIT: You know, if Slender Man were to generate ectoplasm, it probably would be thick, fluid, and ashy. Does anybody know if ectoplasm was purported to have a taste?

Never heard of a taste for ectoplasm, the general consensus from back when ectoplasm was still believed in was that it was more of a gauze like material that was slightly wet, sort of like a cross between a very delicate mucus and a light material like fine silk or cotton. Usually, it was made with muslin, sulfur for smell, and possibly egg whites or some kind of thickener to be used in colored water to make it look unnatural and match whatever consistency the creator needed.

So the stuff coming out of Vince wouldn't fit the classic ectoplasm. Now on the other hand, it would fit in fine with the Ghostbusters movies.

Then I guess we're kinda back at square one then on it.

Was this an intentional thing done to Vince or a happenstance "too close to Slendy" thing? Why the black stuff instead of blood?

Bah.

Coal oil? Some sort of coal by-product that points back to Centralia? Or it could just be generic bile and filth created by the old man.

Pretty gross all around anyway.

I'd say that Evan's was "battle damage" but I'd think that Vince's treatment is more personal. Fairmount!Vince belonged to "The Man" after all.

And now that scene is ten thousand times more horrifying. Jesus Christ.

Hello fellow Hybrids. I've lurked these boards off and on...first time posting.

I took Vince's treatment as connection/foreshadowing of what was revealed in box five:
"THE VOYEUR SHALL SWALLOW JUSTICE'S SWORD"

If we assume that the Voyeur is Vince (making the Firebrand and Guardian Evan and Jeff, respectively). Then Vince gushing out the substance could indicate what is to come.

All of this talk. Maybe I just have a dirty mind but... oh god.

Let's just say Vince didn't swallow, per se.

You sound like a theatre person. >.>
And it seems my coffee grounds-like blood was shot to hell. OH WELL....this is more interesting anyway.

Can we please please please leave Reavers out of this. Pedo Twig Man is bad enough, I don't need Firefly's Big Bads too.

Yes. Specifically, maple trees.

*gasp!* Does that mean Slendy is

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
secretly Canadian?!?! (Of course, your cheaper Slender Man is mostly high fructose corn syrup.)

Too lazy to log in. PA has maple trees. I live near a recreational park that holds a maple festival whenever the trees produce enough for the syrup to be made. Might fit.

I've had a slow night and was able to review a lot of random stuff. As such, I'm off on my crazy tree habits and have already sent out a handful of messages to the guys.

For speculation here:

Have any of the Hidden Videos shown us stuff from the future(that we know of)?

Used to be into the occult (Cultists, Ghosts, oh my!) and mythology before going down my current career path. One of my favorite things was learning how some great hoaxers of the past were able to pull off their tricks and just how elaborate some of the cons were and how many people would usually be involved with the seances.

I know way too much mythology and other useless garbage that my mind could have used to help me become a rocket scientist or at least get a pay check like one. Sad

You mean besides the hidden videos? There's been rampant speculation for a while that the hidden ones have clips from the future, which seems to have been borne out by 77of76.

The problem with that is that the guys apparently don't remember the events of 77of76, which would have almost certainly happened during "Last Week/Taking It Back."

Now, could they have forgotten, yes - I think a number of the hidden footage accounts for stuff they don't remember. But some other things I'm just not sure about.

What we know is that as they draw closer in our time to certain bits of footage, the videos 'unlock' themselves on that hard drive. This is what happened with 77of76, etc. The big questions right now are still a) is this really stuff that is happening right here, right now that they're forgetting, or is it from somewhere 'sideways' to our time, and b) who the fuck gave them this hard drive, and how?

That's part of the reason MsSynclair tried to send a tweet back to the last EMH phantom tweet ("please stop watching us") - the suspicion was that it was someone, perhaps one of their future or parallel selves, who had been trying to communicate with them and us. But we never heard back on that, of course.

What I do know is the whole hard drive slowly unlocking its own videos thing feels like a countdown, and I don't like it.
