Well, in terms of the communication, think about it. This means we can't contact Steph (at least for now, maybe), someone who we can usually trust.

He's gotten their twitter feed before. He can get the Tumblr. And say Evan is inHABITed, by that logic we can't completely trust anything he says either. Even is she gets control of her blog back, what's to stop him from taking over whenever he wants, or even acting as her. Perhaps this hijacking is to muddle the waters of trust further? If not to us, then to the crew.

@Karuvitomsk,@grieck, Yeah I was just throwing it out there as an option. It would be an interesting narrative path to take, and one I would have chosen myself, but its a lot more dramatic and likely that Evan will throw himself into the MCP kill himself in a heroic sacrifice.

And yes, that's what I said above - that the tumblrjack may have as much to do with dividing the others against Evan as making some of us suspect him. I trust what he said to me; I believe he was being sincere. We don't know if HABIT is controlling him or any of them, and that includes Steph, who has a history of being compelled by SM - all of them are compromised, all of them have been influenced, all of them are potentially suspect. But beyond that outside influence I don't believe Evan or any of the others would consciously do harm to each other. And so I think his message was legit.

In any event, both my and Luipaard/seriousbandits' messages back to him went through the usual EMH email; if they want our take on Evan, they have it just as he does. So hopefully they are not turning on him, at least not anymore.

I know what that prophecy said, and I know the general line of thinking about what it can or will mean for Evan, but insofar as we may affect it we don't have to sit around and watch it happen.

A few thoughts raised by this new HABIT-on-Damsel post:

a.) The time of posting. 11:52 AM I think it said. Right in the middle of the day. It's a small detail but struck me as very odd for some reason. Of course we always associate "night" with "the bad guy," and EMH has proven very adept at avoiding that trend (after all, the Rake was introduced in broad daylight and several particularly creepy or vicious scenes have been in daytime).
But noticing the time posting I have to wonder something: is there a "schedule" for HABIT? Is there a specific time period during the day he's normally active in? Doubt such a thing is important but I'm just thinking out loud.

b.) We haven't heard back from the guys since Jeff's "Oh shit" moment after being alerted to the first HAmsel post earlier, have we? That's... not at all comforting. I agree, we should start trying any means of reaching anyone at this point. The only one we've reached is Evan and the results were not quite what we could have hoped for.

c.) I said earlier that we shouldn't push Evan too hard and I still agree but I do (hypocritically) think we shouldn't pull back either. But now, at this juncture, it seems like we should be less worried about what Evan's doing and more worried about where Damsel is.

d.) If this is a hijacking of her site instead of a hijacking of Damsel herself, that makes two instances recently in which the EMH group have been `jacked. The boys' Mediafire account, now this. Am I the only one thinking this feels like a ring closing in tighter and tighter?

Yes, I thought of their Mediafire account as well.

And no, I don't think anyone's heard from them since Evan's outburst, but I really don't know what to do next. Remember, all correspondence goes to the same universal email address; I alerted Jeff to the first hijacking, he wrote "son of a bitch" and ran off presumably to handle it, I asked him to check in on them and be careful, and in reply I got Evan after me. Anything that goes to one of them goes to all of them.

I assume without further alert that Steph is fine and they're all alive and well. My concern is more for how Evan is doing and how they're dealing with each other. I was going to wait for him or them to reach back out after what we wrote in response, but who knows what to do, really. I think someone else should check on them, I know a few of us have. They'll call when they're ready.

Risking more of the wrath of Evan by posting this, but I think it needs to be addressed.

I mentioned it briefly in Angora chat that I thought it was odd/telling that Habit would choose a Motorhead song to tie himself to Jack the Ripper. There is a vertitable ton of music about Jack the Ripper. Why Motorhead?

I think people are forgetting that Vince's phone was found in Alex's room for no explained reason.

And that's why I'm waiting. I also think another push (at least from me) after the last one is only going to agitate the situation, so when they're ready, they'll talk and hopefully their interpersonal situation won't have gone totally pear-shaped.
