"And I can't let myself become too human?"

... weird way of putting that.

- the person who hasn't been here for months, and... didn't really add anything anyway.

Poor Jeff.

I find it very strange they continued on with early EMH in the wake of this. But apparently that was his coping mechanism. Which I can understand, sort of. But in his own way, he needs help as much as Alex, even if he isn't as ill as his brother. We're poor substitutes.

I know we're all probably thinking the same thing about the cause of the accident. But there's nothing to be done about that at this second. What can be done, maybe, is this: I ran Crosswicks Creek through Google Maps. Does someone know where those map images from the material Jessie gave the guys is? I'd like to check those images against what I'm looking at. I'm also looking for proximity to anything else we know - Allentown is not far away so most likely it fits the pattern of suspected Rake disturbances, at least.

Also of troubling note: Alex's YT account is WickedStickyAlex. i.e. Sticky Wicket.

I can get behind that statement. Just means he doesn't want to let emotions bog him down, like when Jessa got taken. Hey wait a--

So,"hit a deer or some decently-sized animal"
Gives me an idea. Rake? I don't want to jump to conclusions but its the first thing that sprang to mind.

Both Crosswicks Creek and the maps presented in The Corenthal Connection show a proximity to Allentown. Unless Google Maps is fucking with me. So yes, we can suspect a whole Rake thing again. We can hypothesize that it hunted down and killed any number of adults connected to either SM's targets, or perhaps the cycle, or the past - I don't know. Or maybe it's not that simple.

I wonder if there's more to glean from Crosswicks Creek but I'm not seeing it yet. Then again, I have come down with a bad cold, I've barely slept in a day and I spent all day in fucking jury duty.

Oh, that's awful. Poor Alex.

Anyway. It must have been just before they began EMH, two months tops -- hell, Jeff probably latched on to it as a way to cope with everything. They were more dedicated to their "professionalism" then, and they certainly wouldn't have showed us him or Alex being upset.

Also, this bit from the letter:

Quote:
When we finally got the call that night, he was messing around with the treble levels in my dad's response to the doorbell.

Maybe that was the voice we heard in Alex when Evan went to check on him and Jeff?

I think that's a fair assumption if we're going to go down that road(and we already have). Considering the deal with Ryan...iunno.

Should we assume that Jeff is saying this happened almost exactly a year ago? CYSTW stared on 6/1

Lots of rain/water stuff at first there.

same with me. though didn't ryan die at the hands of the rake while driving? and ryan looked more like he had been pulled out, while jeff's parents just looked like they hit something and fell in a river.

i hadn't realized how recent it's been since jeff's parents died. perhaps we could pinpoint when it happened? maybe explains the weird bit in "jeff". definitely explains more why jeff went off the deep end the way he did/has.

"A year ago" leaves us a lot of wiggle room. If their deaths do coincide with the beginning of CYSTW, then WTF is Jeff doing in the Sleep Deprivation episodes? No way a guy bounces back like that in two weeks. I'd put it closer to January.

@qaqa Thanks! Very Happy

More creepy Rake thoughts.

In the Creepy Pasta, the father drives his car off the road and into a lake.

I'm eyeing the timeline to see if we can pinpoint whatever thursday this happenend, but I wonder if there is any point in that. We don't really see Jeff or anyone acting weird(er) or anything that might be explained by the deaths.

But if we are looking at a general year ago time period, I'd imagine the Day of Sleep Ustream can be watched in a new light ninja'd

I think pinpointing the 'when' of the deaths versus Jeff's demeanor in the videos is a blind alley, for a number of reasons. I may be totally wrong. Right now I'm focused on the locations.

Nice catch on the pasta!

I agree there's not much point in trying to pin it down to an exact day, at least on our own. But I think it would be worth it to figure out whether it was during the series or not.

You're Google-fu is stronger than mine, so have at. But don't work too hard at it when you're not feeling well! It'll still be there in the morning.

Well, at first glance I'm not seeing anything here that doesn't simply suggest another dot on the potential "Rakin' Map" (god, that's callous) we saw in the stuff Jessie gave to the guys. It's also another landmark a la Baldpate - I don't know. Maybe it simply is what it is, and we're to suspect the Rake. Maybe not.

Seems to be all we can do at this point. Unless you can match up the Baldplate hiking locations? (http://everymanhybrid.wikia.com/index.php?title=Baldpate_Mountain&image=Baldpate-jpg)
