Still pretty cool, IMO. Very Happy And if I ever get Slendy on my back I know who I'm going to call.

New York; I live in Brooklyn. My job's offices are in Manhattan and I spend a lot of time down there as well, but I often work from home.

I have a casual knowledge of it which mostly comes from years of watching Dark Shadows and a little light reading when I was a kid, but I was mostly into Stephen King and horror films back then. I read a bit of Alan Moore's Neonomicon. I recently started reading At The Mountains Of Madness on my phone after reading up about Guillermo Del Toro's very troubled on/off production. He had James Cameron producing it, he'd designed everything, he had Tom Cruise but he couldn't get it made, nor as an R-rated picture. I know the basics.

Allow me to sneak in and out of this conversation so I can hi-five you for Dark Shadows.

I know that show inside and out. Every inch. A deeply misspent youth.

I am not a Lovecraft aficionado, OTOH, so I doubt I'd be much help on something like that. I also may be preoccupied this summer and fall with a really big writing opportunity, but we'll see.

That'd be a pretty awesome collab.

More to the point, I'm free from work. Speculation will to me in sleep

Seconded. I can think of at least three people who would give worse advice than you, so at worst you're the fourth-to-last person I'd turn to.

And, needless to say, I eagerly await your adventure into the squamous and rugose, with a heaping side dish of eldritch abominations. I have no idea why, but I have a feeling Carnahan is a terribly inventive and talented individual.

First time poster

I recently got into EMH. I tried to read the original forum thread from the beginning, but got to around page 300 before realizing the game would be over before I caught up Razz

Thoughts thus far:

Habit is an incorporeal being who hijacks other people's bodies to do his dirty work. On CYSTW he's been posting info on serial killers, and I think he's taking credit for all of them (He openly does so for the Jack the Ripper reference)

I don't believe Alex killed his parents. Like the Malkavians in the original version of Vampire: the Masquerade, I believe he has gained a terrible knowledge and it's caused his mind to crack. I don't think he consciously remembers this knowledge or he would have shared it. The purple tape on his mouth in 'Jeff' is symbolic of him not being able to tell. See epilectic tree #2 for more details.

Jeff and Alex's parent's died in a creek. After all the mentions of water and floods by Damsel, this can not be a coincidence. Also they hit something big in the road. And if Slenderman is not being depicted in a forest, he's usually standing in or by a road.

Jessa is a lost cause, either dead or Slenderpawn. The way Slendy dangled her in front of Jeff on 'Congratulations Magus' was very similar to the way the Rake dangled Sparky in front of Alex.

The reason Vincent had been affected less by the creepypasta was his initial refusal to believe in it. While Evan came to the (correct) conclusion that it was real and needed to be hunted down immediately and Jeff went looking for answers, Vince clung to the idea that it was all a sick prank. Like Damsel, keeping himself ignorant kept him relatively safe.

Epilectic Trees: (Things that crossed my mind, not sure if I buy them myself. Crazy Theories not to be taken too seriously)

1) Corinthal killed the original children to put them out of reach of something dark (Habit/Slendy/Rake/All three). Current children are the reincarnations of the originals

2a) Their parents had already picked Alex up with the crash happened. He witnessed what they hit (Rake? Slendy?) and was then timeslipped back(Accidentally or because something wanted him alive?). Realizing he was back to before they had even picked him up, he decided the whole thing wasn't real so deeply that even when it became real he couldn't process it. Also his youtube name is WickedStickyAlex. His parents were going to take him to a restaurant called Sticky Wickets when they died.

2b) As I said above, the purple tape was symbolic of him being unable to speak what he knows. And who was standing menacingly in the shadows: Jeff.

3)Linne = Jessaline?

What if we've been wrong all along? What if Alex is HABIT? No one really knows the nature of The Rake so him being an enforcer for HABIT might not be correct. Evan's a nut bar, no question, but Alex is also bonkers 100% so it's possible.

That...actually makes a lot of sense. You might be onto something there. But what did Slendy do with Jeff after he lured him into his trap? Or did Vince managed to stop Jeff (he cries out for Jeff to stop, and then the camera falls) and foil Slendy? And has that event even really happened yet?
