If that is the case, I suspect it would have been going crazy around the time they found it and Vinnie's subsequent close-encounter unfolded. BUT it could have not been turned on. OR they simply could have been too distracted to notice.

It's also possible that, if it is a Slenditron 5000, its batteries were weak after who knows how long in storage. Maybe the clicking we (think?) we heard was its effect, but weak because it was lacking juice: it doesn't detect Slendy's presence but his approach.

A Slender-detector would be a gift from the gods. I almost doubt they would be so lucky as coming into possession of such a tool. So I'm not holding my breath.

Since we seem to be poised for endgame, I wouldn't be surprised if some elements show up that will speed things along. And it's very possible that knowing Slendy is present (or coming) would end up doing nothing but amping up the dread.

Another possibility I just thought of: It might not be a detector at all but a sort of Phantom Zone projector, something that will, when activated, allow our boys to enter the Arkverse. Its resemblance to a Geiger counter is purely incidental (and the result of a limited prop budget).

EDIT: Good call, Luipaard. Maybe it was the device itself that ripped spacetime open?

I'm of the opinion that Vinnie touching the rocking horse was what triggered it, since they put so much focus on it. But I do like that idea -- the boys could use it for all sorts of crazy shit, haha.

I would have, but I doubt they'd respond to an email from someone who they haven't heard from ever before. Not that I am trying to badmouth the guys; I'm sure they receive far too much mail to consider each correspondence. It'd probably be better if you or Draven sent it.

I'm going to guess that it is something that either Corenthal or one of the Mining Town 4 made to detect Slendy, maybe as a way to know when they might be in danger?

Speaking of. . . HABIT called for each group of protestors to carry a sign with a HABIT 2012 Hashtag on it during the 6th trial, right? Seems like HABIT is going to kick of his campaign pretty soon.

That's complete nonsense - especially since I'm still waiting to hear back on a couple things myself. Sometimes we hear back, sometimes we don't. It's strictly luck of the draw and there is not a class system. We all were new to it once. Go for it!

I'm sure they're just busy, and in time you'll hear from them.

I'm not worried about me, I'm just illustrating a point for Harbie. No one has a monopoly or a sacred right to any of this, and he's absolutely allowed to email EMH.

I don't mean it like that, I just think that it is a lot more likely for them to read an email if it is from someone they have previously interacted with.

And we're both telling you that that's bullshit. Jeff and Evan both answer emails, from all kinds of people. They're probably just busy.

I would say, go for it, Harbster.

And all this talk about the potentially-useful detector makes me think of Edward Sharpe's "40 Day Dream" -- OHHHHH, it's the magical, mystery DEVICE (as opposed to "kind").

Seriously, Harbie. I emailed them when I first joined Unfiction, getting a response a few days later. And I was asking them about goddamn Daniel. We haven't seen him since EMH was still doing fitness tips.

I AM TOTALLY WAITING FOR THE RETURN OF FITNESS TIPS BY THE WAY. If the boys are taken (or whatever), I nominate HABIT to take over the show in their absence.

a little late to the actual party, but seriously...email them, dude.

The worst that could happen is that you don't get a response...

(or you do and then email them way too much and start to feel like a creeper everytime you hit send or anything....)

So due to same rather unfortunate real life troubles, I've been away for some days. Did I miss anything apart from Jeff's letter, CYSTW going offline and Trial 6?
