All I saw from my brief reading was a spirited existential debate - is there God or no God? Kinbote argues for the necessity of divine Providence and a creator; Shade does not believe in original sin or God, so it seems, and names "pity" as one of our innate traits. Kinbote believes that without a higher power, existence would be chance and chaos. Someone else may have another take.

Maybe "pity" isn't a password to anything literal. But "pity" itself must mean something.

Alright...let's list moments of "pity" so far in the series. Let's see if we can find something in common.

1) Corenthal comes to feel pity for the children in his care. This pity turns to love and he adopts them.

2) Evan felt pity for Damsel, especially after Jeff put the police on her trail. This was part of the impetus of breaking her out of the mental ward.

3) Vince feels pity for Jeff in - - - when the argument is winding down. He agrees to end the fitness series if anything else strange happens, itself a little unusual since he had declared minutes before that they must not stop. His pity for Jeff moved him to throw a lifeline to bring some peace.

Any moments I'm missing?

This Pale Fire stuff sounds pretty plausible to me (are you sure you aren't Jeff?).

I mean Damsel mentioned it a few times.

I also kinda of wonder what it has to do with Noah.

nope Very Happy

just a lurker who got lucky. i've been following since the game started and i've never had anything to contribute before now. it's nice to give something back.

and as i said earlier, i emailed the crew my findings. i'll upload any response i get from them as soon as i get something.

idk what we are supposed to do with this clue, if anything at all.

maybe damsel will "see the words" were looking for. lol

this reminds me of the story of the rake.the original on creepypasta

"After adjusting to the dark for a half second, I was able to see what caused the strange reaction. At the foot of the bed, sitting and facing away from us, there was what appeared to be a naked man, or a large hairless dog of some sort. It's body position was disturbing and unnatural, as if it had been hit by a car or something. For some reason, I was not instantly frightened by it, but more concerned as to its condition. At this point I was somewhat under the assumption that we were supposed to help him."

she felt PITY for him....kind of an unusual thing to feel at that moment...
mabe just like habit is man-kinds bad habits, the rake is our pity?

The Rake isn't symbolic. It's a tool.

i know that, i mean creation wise. the rake sure as hell aint somethin natural, n neither is habit n slendy. they may have things that attract them to certain people tho. certain qualifications someone meets to become a target. they dont seem to just attack/ stalk anyone at random. they have some sort of connection, either to a current/past prey or otherwise. just like the kids (including milo) play'd "games" with slendy.

You mean the tumblr or somewhere else? Because my peepers are working all over the tumblr and I don't see anything germane.

Yeah, on his Tumblr.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
He posted a picture of a book earlier today. Look at the tags.

OOG:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's a picture of Pale Fire spread open with a little...plastic thing that says "references" on it.

I don't want to put the link to Jeff's Tumblr here, but I will link to the OOG thread: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32099

Although I do think it's possible that he's trolling us, because he likes to do that but
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
he sure got a copy of that book fast.

EDIT: ignore that last part...
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
it was a professionally taken picture XD

Why was I offline yesterday?? Surprised

Anyways, Pale Fire is one of my favorites, and I can't believe I did not make the Shade connection!! Facepalm!!

Also, the guys are huge Nabokov fans, Jeff has quotes PF himself one or two times, and yeah, the Damsel posts were also mentioned.
Really weirded out some thought this was coincidental though... It's EMH. Nothing is coincidental! Especially if it connects to quality books, music or art.

Question is: where to try the password on?

and the EverymanHYBRID mediafire account.

And yeah, I highly doubt we're supposed to log in to the main Youtube, or Jessie's Youtube (is that considered in game? It's in the Relevant IG Links section). But as far as I know, those are all the accounts that are officially involved in the game.

But again, as I said before, I don't know of many websites that allow four-letter passwords. I don't think pity is literally a password for us.

Yeah, I'm far from convinced it is any literal "password" to anything, that's just how it was termed in the original text.

Have we emailed the guys on this?
