I'm not engaging with anything FRA does or says as IG.

Me either. Like I said, I don't think he's above messing with us like this.

What. He's not gamejacking; I'm pretty sure he would've been called out IG by now if he was, and if you look at any of his posts here or in the SA thread it's pretty obvious he wouldn't do something like that.

I'm not sure how okay it is to discuss IG things with someone who was previously a participant but was brought into the game, but we did the same thing with GreenFeathers so I think it's the easiest/best way to figure out what's happening.

Is this where someone engages the "You're tearing me apart!" meme?

I'm going to need more than his word.

If EMH or HABIT confirms these events are canon, then fabulous, but I'm not holding my breath.

Discussing things here in character is generally frowned upon. I'm not saying he's not legit, but I'm skeptical as always. I don't really think he's gamejacking, but like I said, I don't think he's above messing with us like this.

Until Habit, Evan, Jeff, Vince, Steph, or Alex mentions him in some way or another, I'm going to remain in doubt. Don't get me wrong, FRA seems like a cool guy, but for so much to develop with no direct IG confirmation is unusual to say the least.

Well. To play along but to not directly reply to a question. (This is cool since Jeff and Evan read here IN REAL LIFE AND GET UPSET IF WE INSINUATE THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE BEING CRAZY then I can treat other "characters" that might read here as such.)

In regards to safety, I have to wonder back to Ryan. We're operating under the belief that HABIT put a hit out on Ryan due to him breaking rules...namely the "DO NOT SEEK ANY OUTSIDE HELP." rule.

In retrospect, I think Ryan got hosed a little bit, since I think most Rabbits have been more guilty of seeking outside help than Ryan has.

In regards to FRA, it seems like he has stumbled onto the "DO NOT FUCK WITH ME." rule. Considering that he hasn't been Rake'd(I haven't seen the last video yet..but lulz@spike)..I imagine he's been sufficiently punished. Long story short, it should be safe to quit.

Unless it's not.

edit: Of course, that only really applies if Ryan was actually killed because of breaking the rules. Thinking about it, Ryan had to share the email with someone in order for Habit's trials to take off...right? HABIT probably killed him just to show how serious he was. Ryan was probably fucked, regardless.

Given what we know now, it seems possible that HABIT had nothing to do with Ryan's death at all and was just exploiting the result of something that happened when the Rake went walkies. Just like he's now trying to associate himself with Famous Monsters of Realityland on CYSTW, he saw that Ryan had become Rake kibble and stole the credit in order to launch the Trials, knowing that the Rake wouldn't speak up to set the record straight.

[/notentirelyserious]

Serious or not, it's a valid point.

If Ryan wasn't a HABIT ordered Raking, it's brings a lot of new questions to the table...especially about Jeff's parents.

And...if "Snoopy" isn't taking orders like HABIT implies, what the hell is he doing?

Well, it could lead back to the theory that the Rake is Slendy's minion, whether it be permanent or a rent-a-henchman affair. Or else the Rake is really just a rabid animal that needs to be turned in the right direction to be utilized properly?

Hrm.

It's just odd. Everything we're lead to believe in the creepypasta about the Rake says he seems to be rather intelligent. And with the Sparky incident...that seems to validate that.

I'm less and less inclined to believe that there's is someone guiding and manipulating him. And I'd really hate to believe that he's some glorified Slendy proxy.

One thing that is curious is that you'd think that the Rake would have some sort consistent way to kill people. Is he a neck snapper or does he claw em to death? If we're to believe that Rose (and maybe some of those parents) we're Rake'd. If he killed Ryan, why snap his neck to make it look like a car accident? For the Police? We know they're useless

And for an interesting divergent thought. Fairmount Evan forked that Nurse to death, right? Could that be another Raking instead?

Re: Habit stabbing the nurse, the letter mentioned that he wasn't allowed to have utensils anymore because one was found buried in her body, so I think her being Rake'd is out.

I hope the Rake is more intelligent than what I've put forward. I wonder though if it means that it has its own agenda though?

Dunno how I feel about that, if it's true. This series is so damn complicated and we haven't had any updates from the EMH channel -- nothing telling us the situation with the boys.

Rghgjgkldssjflskakdf. I'm going to bed.

I think we're overthinking this - I think it's as simple as the Rake is an attack dog for SM and/or HABIT, and he killed Ryan for spilling the beans too early. I think the creepypasta ties are tenuous at best; they appropriated the key concept, but the EMH Rake itself does not seem to be terribly autonomous. And that's fine by me. If you have too many scheming monsters it turns into the fucking Legion of Super-Villains.

Meanwhile, at the Hall of Doom...

I do think the Rake stuff is being overthought.

But going back to the original Tangent. Was Ryan a HABIT ordered hit? It seems like HABIT needed the email to get to the guys(and thusly to us). So was Ryan doomed from the start or did someone else order the hit?

(If HABIT is behind the Morse videos and all the other hidden bits, you'd think he'd have access to the Wrist Band email addys...and would just distrubute the tourney stuff that way)

Agreed (with qaqa). We must remember Marcus Aurelius... simplicity. What does each villain do?

Slenderman haunts.
HABIT manipulates.
Rake eviscerates.

It's interesting, our three "bad guys" almost fit the three "Everyman" characters from Box 5. Slenderman acts like a very busy voyeur, HABIT is a firebrand obsessed with his war, and the Rake is having a devilishly hard time fighting to lose the thing he's spent the most time around in the series: Alex, whose room he "guarded" for months.

This is why I hate symbols and archetypes though. Once you get bored with the obvious use, it's too easy to make up a second one. And a third. And a...
