the letter I sent~

Quote:
Hi there, guys. Just a brief question because we need something cleared up:

Way back in 2010, we heard you mention a guy named Nick. We were wondering if you had heard from him lately. We're worried that something may have happened to him, because, well. HABIT made another CYSTW post, and it features a guy named Nick who owned a dog called Chowder. (Fair warning, it's fucking disturbing: http://canyouseethewords.tumblr.com/post/7866530774/a-little-ongoing-experiment-of-mine)

It may just be a coincidence, especially since there's no real timeframe for this. We certainly hope it's a coincidence. So if you could, I don't know, call him up and then check on his house or something. And go armed. For everyone's peace of mind.

If you could get back to us about it, that would be great.
Thanks!
-Lui

Crap. They DO know a Nick... Nick Vs. Evan coming?

Of course there are no details to date this entry, so it could be long past...

If we take "ongoing experiment" literally, I think it's setting something up instead of being long past.

The boys thought Nick could have been trolling them in a Slenderman costume, so it's a good bet that he's tall. By the same token, he probably would have been a skinny guy back then, but he's had over a year to bulk up like a motherfucker.

EDIT: Great letter, Luipaard.

...oh god, I think I'm going to be sick. D:

Great letter, Luipaard. I hope they take your advice and go both in a group and armed, but HABIT'll see that coming. I anticipate Evan v. Nick, no matter what precautions anyone takes. At least we know Evan's good with knives...

Actually, I hope they can take him alive. I hope they'll try. Before, I'd have assumed they'd try, but after May & June... :/

That being said, there's another wrinkle. The part about his mother being raped (by HABIT) to 'create him.'

If we take that literally then Nick is not just another pawn, as I had thought, since they took the little sister and left him to try against Evan. I don't know what this is.

Thank you for your compliments, everyone. Let's hope we get some feedback!

If nothing else, this post confirms that HABIT can possess people.

The other thought that makes me wonder is this.

We can, storywise, probably expect Evan to survive any potential clash. Why would (assuming we're reading that thing right, and it was not meant metaphorically) HABIT go out of his way to sire a son just to feed it to someone who would almost surely win the day? Unless both experiments were on equal footing and he means it as a genuine test.

What do we know about Evan's parents? And didn't Centralia Evan's mother know a HABIT of her own, before nicknaming her son?

Good call. There are the Jesus-y overtones, and also the implication that the baddies are playing a much longer game than we might have previously suspected. Looks like they've been putting pieces on the board for 20 years now.

(Is it bad that I'm picturing Nick as looking like Bane all hopped up on Venom?)

EDIT:

To crib shamelessly from Harry Potter, maybe he can't fully inHABIT Evan until Ev's soul is corrupted, and the easiest way to do that is to force Evan to kill a man, and the easiest way to do that is to force him into a fight with an otherwise unbeatable opponent.

Ooooooh.

So Evan really is our Lord and Savior.

(that makes Jeff the Holy Spirit and Vinnie the Father, then? Laughing)

Does the fact that HABIT and Slendy are within the same house and really not doing anything to eachother indicate that they are, in some shape or form, working together?

Also, I think it's interesting that it mentions HABIT raping his mother and Nicholas being a product of that. Wouldn't that either make HABIT human (whaa?) or Nicholas half..something.. something completely fucked up. I suppose HABIT could have 'taken over' someone's body though.. I don't know.

I just took that to mean that HABIT had possessed someone to do the deed. I...shouldn't think that that would give Nick any supernatural traits or anything, but I guess you never really know? Maybe that could account for something else I was thinking about, actually.

Nick seems to remember what happens while he's possessed. In very graphic and disturbing detail. I think we've always assumed that HABIT's victims wouldn't remember their possession, simply because Evan (and, to a lesser extent, the others) have always denied such a thing happening. So does this mean that either Nick's possession is different somehow, or that someone is hiding something? I really don't want to accuse anyone of anything...it just seems odd.

I guess we could also question the veracity of any of this information. It does come from HABIT himself, after all. But I'm not sure why he'd lie about this.

And I'd been wondering about the HABIT and Slendy thing, too. It kinda seems to fit the bill of the other story HABIT posted - Slendy got to take the little sister, and HABIT's having his way with the rest of the family.

He probably has to fight the John guy who had Gorillaz blasting in his ear all day, not Evan.

John had both his legs cut off and it's presumed HABIT killed him.
