 		I wonder if people realize that this thread was started specifically to talk about EMH (and only EMH) and, as such, a lot of this is off-topic. The SlenderCon shenanigans should be taking place in the OOG thread, and we should be reserving this thread for actual EMH discussion.

It revolves around the desire of Jeff -- and others, including myself -- to have another monolith thread like the last one, as well as promoting cheer and goodwill. I'm sure most everyone knows what the original purpose is. But we also want to have fun, and the most activity takes place in this thread.

 		Lui. The other thread was a topic of much debate and...well let's just say there's a reason many of the original Hybrids are gone. The new thread was made for a reason, as was the off topic. And sorry, but as we had with Phenom, you do not represent Jeff, only yourself.

And you can't talk about promoting 'cheer and goodwill' when one of the few times Dollaz is behaving and actually staying on track you call him a whiny bitch.

 		I usually find the best way to get on topic is to get on topic?

I'm a little confused as to what HABIT is insinuating in having Nick fight someone. Is he going to possess Nick? And then possess someone else(Evan?) and fight himself?

Or is it going to be a "the one that lives doesn't have to deal with me anymore" kind of deal?


Also, since it appears that the inHABIT'd folks seem to have some knowledge of being inHABITed, does this mean that Evan actually is a red herring and it's someone else(Jessie/Alex...) that is the other 'pet'?

A very true point about Jeff. To be fair, I can only go off what he has posted on his blog (since we've decided we don't care if blogs get posted about, I cite this as a valid source) and what he has posted in this very thread -- both places where he has (jestingly, it is true) told us to defend the off-topic chatter in the main thread. It is also worth noting that many of the original HYBRIDs took off a long time before the behind the scenes thread was even a twinkle in Phenom's eye, and that the cultural change in this subsection of UF started a long time before even that ("long" in terms of internet time, of course). Blaming their departures on single events is rather short-sighted. People change and their interests shift, and sometimes life gets in the way. Unless they tell us why they've stopped following UF/EMH, we have no concrete proof about their motivations, and speculation will only muddy the waters in discussions such as these. I would politely request that you not indulge in it, for the time being at least.

You've followed the same discussions I have, grieck, and you know my views on the separation of the off-topic chatter from on-topic chatter and how it ties into the cultural shift of this community.

I'm not trying to knock Cougar or any other mod. They have all proven to be adept and capable in their roles. I'm only saying that if staying on-topic is so damn important, why the fuck did he wait all day to say something about it?

I think we're coming to the crux of the issue, which is to say, what is this thread for? To discuss EverymanHYBRID of course, but what else? I'd say that the point of it all is "fun," and that it should be encouraged in all forms and aspects. I also think that off-topic chatter doesn't hurt anyone. For heaven's sake, it burns itself out in the space of two hours at most. The only thing needed is to be patient, especially since the actual EMH Off-topic thread is so fucking dead that posting anything there is practically a death-sentence for discussion.

Sorry about ruining your on-topic questions, Ouro. I'll let you get back to your regularily scheduled programming.

In a nutshell, I've been having problems with my wireless router and have only been intermittently connection. In addition, I have a toddler who takes up much of my daily time. Because of that, I simply cannot read every thread to ascertain which ones are in compliance and which ones are not. You are supposed to do that yourselves. I get most of my EMH knowledge through Angora these days and as such haven't really bothered with this thread for a while. But I got a complaint (which is how the system is supposed to work), and I responded to it.

I've sent a message to Jeff about this thread; if he says that yes, he wants this thread to be a Monolith, then I'll bring it to all the mods for a discussion. If he says he doesn't care either way, I'll be removing certain parts of the last three pages to other threads, and will be policing this thread more in the future.

I'll say it again: You're supposed to be policing yourselves. That's the entire forum model.
