I looked in the comments and saw this:

Quote:
@EverymanHYBRID: I think that either HABIT or Your Tall, Thin Friend (You know who I'm talking about) is preventing you from seeing the videos correctly. That, or you're just fucking with us and trying to start a war in the Unfiction forums. Either way, you're starting to worry us.

Also, HABIT sent the boys a photoshopped postcard. If Rake can photoshop, somebody do a drawing of it. If not, then he cannot be HABIT.

If that's the case, then HABIT = Corenthal and Rake = More aggressive version of Slenderman

You know, if the Rake is really behind HABIT, then his method of communication doesn't have to be totally comprehensible, does it? Would He/It literally have to type to communicate?

Here's another way of looking at it:

Do you think there was a someone ingame that actually uploaded the secret videos? Or is it something else?

Judging from the way Evan can't stop bitching about how much he hates pushing this aspect, I'd lay the uploading blame at his feet. We've already got precedent for him uploading videos that his friends can see.

There's one thing that speaks against that: that the mystery tweeter who challenged HABIT referred to the crew as "my children", which would indicate Corenthal.

My guess: Whenever the kids encounter something from their old lives, Slendor comes in and wipes shit out.

Slenderman got to them when they were kids, teleported them into the future. He also fixed their lives OR their memories of said lives up.

Corenthal is alive, the tweet about "my children" is him.

So Slender Man is like the monsters from Father's Day. Nice.

The only problem I have with our Hybrids sharing bodily continuity with the 70's Hybrids is Corenthal's writing that "The last child from the 'Mining-Town Four' has finally succumbed." The word "succumb", along with the rest of that letter, seems to me to strongly suggest that the children died or (squinting between the lines) had to be put down. It's possible that they succumbed to their urges to follow Slender Man into the Ever-After, I guess.

The only problem I still have is that HABIT is Evan's birth name that HIS REAL MOTHER gave him. Was she crazy? Cultist (Silent Hill!!??)? Prophet?

Someone a couple of pages back suggested that the confluence of names amongst our protagonists and the Hybrid Babies was a coincidence, and that the dark forces are taking advantage of that coincidence to recreate a past (failed?) attempt to emerge into our reality, or something. That would be interesting, if possibly disbelief-stretching.

I'm bringing that up here because, if that is even vaguely relevant, then the baddies could be constantly on the lookout for weak spots in the barrier (or whatever) between worlds. Maybe Baby Evan's mama was a weak spot, and HABIT was able to influence her into giving Evan a nickname that would ultimately shape Evan into a usable vessel. If this were the case, it's possible there'd be no intent on Mama Evan's part, just her acting on what seemed to be a passing whim.

(Can you tell I'm a big fan of Xanatos Gambits?)

I was more implying that there could simply be no physical actions involved in it. Although if Evan was being influenced since the beginning (and there are strong cases for this), this could just be a wild guess.

Just trying to get it across that we don't necessarily have to think in a purely logical, real world way to solve things like this. Sometimes things like this could just be willed.

EDIT: They've mentioned Candle Cove (in jest!) during a livestream, but I've forgotten -- which letter was it also referenced in?

That could also be chalked up to split personality, but this theory would also work with Evan. And, if HABIT is a being with the ability to possess people, then this theory could work with literally EVERYONE, hence his Twitter location, "Everywhere you're not" and his ability to transport himself across large amounts of land seemingly instantly.

Damn, this series gets so open ended the more you think about it Laughing

There's also the possibility that it was Slendy after all, and that he has some sort of paternal feelings toward the boys (and Steph?). That would be especially fitting if ARKworld is a parallel universe that has already been cleansed-by-flood by a deific Slendy, and our protagonists are the sole Noachian survivors (who are just chilling in our world until the waters dry up?).

Or they are kinda like the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They made themselves known (EMH), and now Slendy is here to flood (end) the world, at which point they hop into another dimension, where Slendy alters reality so that they fit in and repeat the cycle, and this is their current dimension.

I've always had a problem with the idea of Slendy using our words, much less using Twitter. I think it's such an alien being and its intent so mysterious that human speech does not suffice. I prefer to believe that the "nothing to see here" tweeter was something, anything else, but I'd also find it fucking lame if two different Mysterious Beings were fighting over the boys' Twitter. Perhaps it could be an insane Corenthal who has gone over to the Slendyside and is bickering with HABIT - but I still always found that Twitter duel a bit off-putting.

I don't like the idea that he is working against Slendy, if he is alive. I would hope he is another crazed victim/servant a la Masky over in MH, not some cryptic ally. I never like the "MYSTERY ADVISER" or "OMFG DUELING MYSTERY FACTIONS BEHIND THE SCENES" theories for Marble Hornets or EMH. Again, those seem so lame-ass X-Files/Lost-esque "mytharc"-y to me, and a way of dragging stuff that's just sleek and scary in and of itself down into a sea of geek minutiae. And we geeks have got enough minutiae.

I just saw the new video and that was beyond FUBAR. If this could fully well explain WHY they couldn't see the hidden videos...

And what scared me is when they were talking to the "doctor" (and I think we all know who that is) before passing out and bleeding from the noses and ears.

Hey, does anybody think that those look like words? I saw the picture/preview thing and saw the letters... Am I just imagining it or does it look like they hid something? Sorry I couldn't make it bigger....

It's the part of the video that says 8 minutes pass.
