I meant like, any characters in their in-game universe. Friends of theirs, cops, Nick's family, anyone.

The in universe cops have been like bought off by proxies and government police organization conspirary most in the New Jersey the personal.

People never speed in the New Jersey place cause the cops are busy on the roads not helping Slender victims bad laugh.

Nick's parents were tortured to death if I recall correctly. Cops have proved useless/it only gets innocent people involved. And others haven't noticed due to convenient wiping of people and events from others minds.

It's possible some police officers are being controlled, more likely by HABIT than Mr. Tall. I believe it's more likely our antagonists are just very good about cleaning up after themselves. Possession is always a possibility though, if someone didn't want any officers to investigate certain things. (Such as Nick's disappearance....)
