In Wales," Ley Lines" are called "Dragon Lines". Another pointer to Wales?

Yep, and Wallace and Wales are similar.

Has anybody cracked the "udc_med_cg.7z" password?
I'm thinking that udc could be Undiscovered Country (or Conspiracy).

We also have the "2-ft104" and "10awaw - tec fef.txt"

The "Winners Guide to Omaha Poker" is still on the book shelf. I think the books are the key to the PW needed to acces the udc_med_cg zipped file. Below is a list of the book titles, a list of the authors follows that. I've been trying to work it as an acrostic, but so far no luck.
    Mind Monsters
    Beowulf
    Solaris
    Interesting Times
    Winners Guide To Omaha Poker
    Red Dwarf
    Explaining The Unexplained
The Faber Book of Nonesense Verse
    The Haunter of the Dark
    Roget's Thesaurus The Everyman Edition
    Chaos
    The Soft Machine
    Naked Lunch
    The Levelling Dust
    Jackanapes
    An Experiment With Time
    Catch 22
    The Roman Army 31 BC-AD 337 A Sourcebook

    Jenny Randles
    Seamus Heaney
    Stanislaw Lem
    Terry Prachett
    Ken Warren
    Robert Heinlein
    Grant Naylor
Hans J Eysenck and Carl Sargent
    Geoffrey Grigson (Edited by)
    H P Lovecraft
    Peter Roget
    James Gleick
    William Burroughs
    William Burroughs
    T John Ward
    T John Ward
    J W Dunne
    Joseph Heller
    J B Campbell

*eta - I asked Louise about shooting people, her reply, Airsoft.

Modal - I was thinking about following the Ley Lines. Theres a large crossing point of a number of Ley Lines which is west of Membury in a place called Beckhampton, I wondered whether that might be where Edward was heading.

Just speculation of course, I couldn't see a lot else he could be going for yet.

Amandel,

This password protected file is driving me nuts. Louise text'd me last
night saying she thought Bob's blackbox was probably him giving me cryptic
clues to future information, thanks a lot tell me something I don't know.

Hell I don't know I'm bloody useless at crossword puzzles and such.
Louise also said when she showed me the photo of the books that she
thought that perhaps Bob was trying to point me in the right direction.

Either I'm missing something or...dammit something common between...sorry
I'm rambling.

Maybe Bob isn't trying to help me after all. I so should of stayed in
bed. Hopefully when I see Maad's wife again something will shake lose.

Any help would be useful.

This email came unexpectedly and am still clueless. All I see as "something common between" are the possible reffies to the JPEGs names: "1-66" and "2-ft104". Is W's mentioning "crosswords" & "point (me) in the right direction" a hint for us?

ETA: for example, counting left to right --> over and then upwards gives ROBERT HAUNTER which isn't the PW Sad Embarassed

Looking at the names of the files, I'm wondering if the Fortean Times is what Bob's pointing to. As mentioned earlier in the thread by booba, the first picture (file 1-66) included issue #66 from December 1992. In the second picture, (2-ft104) the magazine is absent, but the file name includes the magazines initials. FT issue #104 was released in November 1997.

I like that idea.

Here's what I've been thinking about (I hope it's not totally misguided)

Things that the 2 book pictures have in common with each other:

The following books:

Mind Monsters - Jenny Randles
Beowulf - Seamus Heaney
Solaris - Stanislaw Lem
Interesting Times - Terry Prachett
Winners Guide To Omaha Poker - Ken Warren
Farmer in the Sky - Robert Heinlein
Red Dwarf - Grant Naylor
The Haunter of the Dark - H P Lovecraft
Roget's Thesaurus The Everyman Edition - Peter Roget
Chaos - James Gleick
The Soft Machine - William Burroughs
Naked Lunch - William Burroughs
The Levelling Dust - T John Ward
Jackanapes - T John Ward
Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
The Roman Army 31 BC-AD 337 A Sourcebook - Brian Campbell

The creation date: 1/3/2008

Stuff only the 1st picture has:

The Ringworld Engineers
Anvil of Stars
The Fortean Times magazine ("pointing" to the "Winner's Guide to Omaha Poker" or just the word "Guide". Omaha Poker is the 2nd game (the O) in the card game H.O.R.S.E. We have been provided with other references to horses (a Cock Horse, a horn-less Unicorn). I have suggested The Uffington White Horse and now possibly the word "gambol" - what horses do.

Stuff only the 2nd picture has:

Explaining The Unexplained
The Faber Book of Nonesense Verse
An Experiment With Time

Things that the 2 book pictures have in common with the Black Box:
Gambling (Omaha Poker, the wagering part of the Black Box).

We have (from the Black Box) Undiscovered Country and The Sleeper. (possible tie-in from Hamlet: "death,The undiscover'd country" and "Pours the poison into the sleeper's ears" both in Act 3.)

Looking for more connections to Fortean Times and the books, I did find the author of "Mind Monsters" Jenny Randles, is a regular contributor to FT. She's written over 50 books, mostly dealing with UFO's, and is credited for coining the phrase, "Oz Factor". More about her and the Oz Factor here.
