Or there's always the dinosaur option and we suggest that they were both caused by the same, as yet unknown event. Perhaps the reason why the Operator became attracted to Alex and the gang in the first place?

I don't believe any of that, but as long as we're looking at all angles of possibility, we might as well look at all angles of possibility.

 		I'm to the persuasion that The Operator is currently occupied by Alex, while masky has this whole time had some sick obsession with J (I hate to say it, but it does hint that masky and TTA are the same if this is true) It can be assumed that Masky never interacted with Alex, if he had there would be video of it somewhere, just as J managed to get video of Masky, this hints at the Psycho Tim theory. Anyway, pretty sure that Masky resulted from SM and wasn't there beforehand.

May I ask an off topic question? Are you from the states? I'm only asking because it seems like a lot of people from the states prefer stories that end with, "and then they destroyed it once and for all!"

For myself, I am from the US and I like horror stories that end with the "villain" winning, or at least remaining after the protagonists escape it. (What can I say? I enjoy getting creeped out.)

I agree with you on your "slender-fanboy" theory. I actually posted something similar to that, though I was thinking more along the lines of "Operator cultist".

Wow, all I can say is wow. I have watched every video, read 75% of the posts from the initial trailhead, read the Q&A, and most of the other relevant stuff. This is one intricate and well done story overall. I am so excited AND nervous to see what happens next. I have watched some of the videos dozens of times especially after watching season 2.

I have a few different thoeries about what might be happening, but only one that makes any kind of sense to me. I'm extremely confused about the character everyone calls Masky/Tim and would like some help clarifying a few things or getting a better explanation of what is known about him. Maybe adding a wiki page for him would be a good idea also.

Jessica scares the daylights out of me, but not as much as the hotel/area itself. It seems too surreal and we have yet to even hear about any specifics of where they are even at allegedly.

If anyone would be willing to PM me what is known about Masky it would be appreciated, and I'd love to talk about my spec on what I think might be happening but don't want to spoil anything if I turn out to be right. Private messages would be the best medium for that kind of thing.

Needless to say, I'm now hooked and will be up lat emany nights hoping for updates as season 2 unfolds.

EDIT: Thanks to those who have responded about Masky/Tim. Anyone who wants to know my spec about what's happening can still feel free to msg me

If you're referring to that, I'm not necessarily trying to solve anything, but I have had real life to attend to, and decided to catch up on a day off and try to respond to the various points that people had brought up over the course of about 17 pages that I hadn't read; I love to chatter about Marble Hornets, as you've probably guessed, but that doesn't mean that you have to sit through and read it all if it's going to piss you off. I fail to see how my posts were less 'informal discussion board' than everybody elses just because there's more there. Disagree with you 100%. There's an off topic forum. Why can people not take the time to 'devolve into chit chat' over there; are they too lazy? I feel that without a mod, it's even more important to moderate ourselves and try to keep on topic (which we're spectacularly failing here, apologies, JKat) -- Noobs don't know that pages 1-3 are the only important ones, but they come to expect that as we continue to blather later on. If someone is late to the game but has insight and wants to post it 11 or 20 pages in, they read the thread, see it's not trout, etc. I think they should be able to do it without being sandwiched by either side by idle chitchat. I resent that you're giving precedence to the people who literally do sit at their keyboard 24/7 so as to 'get there first' when it comes to solving things or making valid points that others may have missed. Yes, the amount of trouting that happens in a thread grows the more pages it has, but that's partially because people like you will use the thread to idly chit-chat, which makes it a lot harder to get through the relevant stuff. If we take the extra ten seconds to go into an Off Topic thread to do our socializing there, this would all be manageable and JKat wouldn't feel the need to moderate, and I wouldn't feel the need to make ridiculous WoT posts in order to play catchup.

And you don't feel that anything's wrong with this? Let me get this straight: You're annoyed with how the state of the forum is now, but since it is already this way, we should all just continue to clutter things up with off topic posts in every single thread, idle chatter in every page beyond the third, without regard for the people who show up after the fact whether they are new to the forum as a whole, or because they've been busy and haven't had time to check back regularly?

Pardon me for derailing this thread with fighting, but I have a beef with this, and I think it's important to point out that if we all spend just a little time being considerate of one another and posting idle chatter in off topic threads; relevant links, photo evidence, etc. etc. in official threads; and thoughts and opinions in the specific video entries, we'll have solved our own problems with the added benefit of giving newbies a chance to understand through example how the forum works. I think that the current set up does obfuscate, I think it's worth making a little more noise to try to get the message across that being lazy is lame, and being lazy because everyone else is is also really lame. And making a brand new post just to bitch about how others are trying to keep the forum tidy -- and that users like me are writing too much -- is offensive. I'm having fun, but I'm trying to keep things tidy and on topic. I would appreciate, one forum member to another, if you tried to do the same. You're an even older member than me; I think it behooves you to set a positive example for newbies, and yelling at JKat (and by extension me, as it does look very much like you've mistaken us for the same person or else have tried to insinuate me in the process without naming names) is going against that.

I agree! This is something that I've been hoping for as well right from Entry #16 or #18 where Jay tries to take off the mask and gets violently rebuffed! You know, I would even settle for an off-screen de-masking that is dealt with in a manner that makes it clear to us that Shit Just Got Real, so long as they can work it into the story post-demasking. As for a significant ending, I don't know... what do you think would constitute a significant conclusion? I don't think that destroying the Operator would be a nice, neat tie-together. I would like to see Jay find a place where he is at peace and isn't killed (and Jessica now, too... I don't feel quite so much for her as I do for Jay, but that's because we've been following him for longer, and everything is still from his POV!) I'd like resolutions to what happened to Alex (and I would really like them to touch on what, exactly, Alex meant by 'gone' fo the rest of the crew, even if we don't get a specific resolution for each other character!) I would like to know what and where the ark is, and why TTA is obsessed with it. While it would be nice to find out what TTA's motives are, I actually think that leaving that a mostly mystery throughout wouldn't bother me. I'd be frustrated but it wouldn't make me throw my computer out a window! I also don't mind if we never really figure out the Operator's origins or shed light on his motives. As a creature who goes bump in the night (or silently stalks sleeping figures) I think it's okay to leave him a mystery!

Huh, there is that! It would tie in with peoples thoughts that Masky is some kind of cultist/obsessed fella... though it feels like a very cliche road to follow, and takes away from the Operator's unknown, unknowable origin and motives.

It's only been a week, I can imagine the time it could take to get Jessica caught up and hear her side of the story, not to mention what may have insued when she went to sleep

Seems like he posts every week or two. I'm guessing probably later this week or early next week we'll see him pop up with Jess ^^ If they went far away it might take a week or so by car to get there and lining up both their stories, finding more things out for us, and finally editing/uploading.

We already post so much as it is. I can't even imagine one person doing the same amount of fangirling that we do with our powers combined!

Regarding the lack of post, perhaps there's an issue where Jessica doesn't like that she's been taped and the ensuing footage uploaded to Marble Hornets? Maybe there's the matter of being brought up to speed about something so horrible, and not wanting to face it... Booh, though, I wish that Jay would tweet that they're both alive, even if something has happened. It would be a relief and then I could go back to my usual level of "ooh, a new entry would be nice," instead of this "Fffff when will an entry come out?! >:\ This sucks!"

...I guess this means that Marble Hornets has successfully kicked it up a notch again, huh?

 		A good way to keep this forum from seeing a lot of rehashing of theories by different people would be to have a WIKI page up that was actually, like, up to date and full of concise summaries of what's been talked about. Currently, the MH wikia is kind of crappy to put it bluntly. Maybe we could all volunteer to take an entry or two and post up everything we can find about it? What are there, 50 videos for Marble Hornets? If 25 people took 2 vids each we could have the Wiki page updated properly in a week.
