when I watched 31 when it came out I really complained about how I thought Jessica's story just dropped dead. I appreciate that it's actually progressing now. However, I'm hoping it goes back on track with the finding Alex thing.

And THE SAAFFFEEE GOODD NOOO!! XD

My thoughts exactly. Accent and everything. Holy buckets is this the extreme. WHY in the name of all that is good haven't we gotten an update? Jay might already be dead!

We are dying here Jay! I mean, I'm sure he won't actually die, because then, I mean, game over, right? But something big-with-a-capital-Operator is going down as. we. speak.

I've always heard that if people look either down or to the left while talking to someone, it's a sign that they're lying. XD I dunno if that's the case here, but I feel like J should NOT be trusting her just because she knows about slender-sickness. For all we know, she could be being used by Slendy/Masky to try and get information out of J.

Eye directions can show us a certain amount about how a person is using their brain during a conversation but it never gives us 100% definite answers about whether a person is lying. However, if you actually look at the video Jessica's eyes are all over the place, she looks both left and right quite a few times. I suspect it's more out of hysteria than anything.

Jay wasn't sleepwalking in Return, he was taken by ToTheArk, as seen in Entry 19.

Pardon me if trout, but one glaring observation/opinion I have about this video. As soon as she started to close the door the distortion went ballistic even by this entry's standards. Obviously Jay couldn't see the distortion, he was filming, so it was a stroke of luck, but if he hadn't told her to keep the door open, she would have been, in the words of Kenny Powers, "f*ckin' out." I think Slendy was going to present himself if she closed the door, and Jay saved her life by telling her to keep it open. Anyone else get this impression?

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that being taken by TTA would include sleepwalking. Would be easier than carrying him.

Also, the distortion seemed to get more pronounced in some cases when they got more emotional. At the beginning, at least -- towards the end, it was just distort-o-rama there.

....as for the "smirk", jesus guys, cool down. I'm personally familiar with that expression. That is NOT a smile, OR a smirk! That's the reflexive trying-not-to-cry grimace. Hysterical might be a good word for it. However, it is NOT indicative of bad acting... really now.

I noticed the emotional triggering of distortion as well. It seemed to me that they both effected it as well. The most startling were Jessica's pallette-change freakout and the door's visual tearing which seemed caused by J. His breathing was quite ragged at that point. Could the two of them be effecting things?

I think this sharing of information between J and Jessica will be quite helpful. If they compare belongings as well and both discover they're carrying flashlights and over-the-counter pain meds then there's definitely a connection there. However, considering Jessica has no cameras, perhaps J was the gear guy (if they were traveling together).

Side note: it's interesting that J has over-the-counter pain meds. Ibuprofen is kind of weak really, so I'm assuming whatever reason he was taking them had little to do with pain (other than minor aches and pains). Any doctors or medical-field-related peoples out there know some alternative reasons for taking ibuprofen?

+1 on the smirk explanation. Seriously guys, if you're going to complain about acting complain about Brian from the 1st season.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-Post Ibuprofen Researching edit

Interesting thing about Ibuprofen, could be nothing however. From here: http://www.drugs.com/ibuprofen.html

"Usual Adult Dose for Headache:

Study (n=34) - Prevention of Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT)-induced headache:
600 mg orally 90 minutes prior to the initial ECT session"

Does the electrical discharge (yes, gross-sounding in the wrong context) given off by the Slenderman give people headaches? It obviously messes with electrical equipment. It might be worth suggesting to J that he take some Ibuprofen in situations where he thinks he might come into contact with Slendie. Masky from season 1 also had pills that kind of looked like Motrin, a brand of pain killer that has Ibuprofen in it...

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Went back and watched Entry #28 to try and figure out what Ibuprofen J was taking. Looks like the orange oval pill on this page: http://www.spiritpharma.com/products/analgesics/

That'd be a 200mg tablet.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

May have stumbled on a reason for their memory loss with the Ibuprofen examining. From here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electroconvulsive_therapy

Check out the "Adverse Effects" section.

This passage struck me as interesting:

"Retrograde amnesia is most marked for events occurring in the weeks or months before treatment, with one study showing that although some people lose memories from years prior to treatment, recovery of such memories was "virtually complete" by seven months post-treatment, with the only enduring loss being memories in the weeks and months prior to the treatment."

A description of antegrade amnesia follows which is kind of interesting. However, the seven months post-treatment thing was interesting to me as a coincidental timing (even though they don't have their memory back I know). Still, we've seen Slendy and Masky causing insane amounts of electrical disturbance. Could be there are side effects similar to Shock treatment.

I honestly didn't think of anything like that. But at the same time I'm thinking that's not plausible since it would be too early for him to just appear.

However you did bring up the door. He asked her to keep it open but as you can see it's open a very time little bit. Now, I can understand being a female and all and privacy but with the way she kept looking away and in the direction of her room that we couldn't see, there's a reason why she wanted to close it and why in the end she left it open just a small bit.

Now, we know she has proof of the slender sickness but there is still no proof that she isn't trying to trap J somehow. Maybe I'm playing a different card but from what we know, we don't know much about her other than the signs of slender sickness and her being the only other hotel guest. Plus the fact that she just went to go pack some clothes like he told her too without asking is a bit unnerving as well to me. Most people in hysterics would probably ask why but she didn't. They barely know each other and even then, for someone who appears paranoid she seems really trusting of J.

Of course maybe I'm looking into things different.

Also, hi! i'm new Smile

Ibuprofen is a relatively common medicine for dealing with headaches and the like (I, in fact, just took some about an hour ago for my headache and slight nausea and it's gone). I believe Jessica mentioned headaches in the vid.

Welcome! I see what you are getting at but the one problem is he was obviously there. The tearing at the bottom of the screen is Slendy-exclusive. (I think anyway, if someone can cite Masky doing that, let me know.) So he was definitely there. That's why I use that to account for the increase in distortion.

Interesting foil to the theory that only Slendy causes visual and audio distortions is Entry #19. It also occurs when Masky is around. Granted, it's much more extreme than Slendy's tearing, but it's a similar kind of interference.

I'd have to say in this instance that perhaps J and Jessica are causing the interference.

Something else interesting is that the first case of Jessica causing interference was when she was on her cellphone in the hallway as J walked past... who was she talking to? Hopefully J asks!

I'm talking about that specific tearing. Bottom fifth of the screen. I've only seen that from Slendy.

Yeah, but we can't forget about the safe just yet. It's definitely gonna come into play sometime soon. Maybe if Totheark decides to make a response, it'll likely have something to do with the safe.

My two guesses:

- Entry #33 will cover the escape from the hotel. There'll be a couple of panning shots of the room as Jay makes sure he doesn't leave anything behind. In one shot, the safe will be closed... when the shot pans back to the safe, it's open. Something disturbing is inside.
- Failing that: totheark's first response video this season will show him entering Jay's room and opening the safe after Jay leaves, and taking something out.

Why did she keep looking back inside the room?
Yeah, that was bothering me too - and it looks like it was bothering Jay since it looked like he was trying to get a shot of whatever it was looking at.

It might be a "tell" - a sign that she's bluffing or lying or something. Not being able to maintain eye contact is often a sign that you're concealing something. Maybe she remembers more than she says - perhaps everything - but she's been instructed (ordered? forced?) to play dumb by whoever's exerting control over her.
