[DEAD SERIES] Searching For Angels/Watched
We're Sorry

Hey!

So, long story short, I've been lurking for awhile and have gotten hooked on Slender Man Args. I usually come in late to the party, (Marble Hornets, Seeking the Truth), but I've managed to get in on these last couple (Dreams in Darkness, Everymanhybrid, TribeTwelve). But I'm always on the lookout for new stuff to feed my addiction. Usually I just check the lists around here, but a friend of mine e-mailed me the link to this blog because of my love for Ghost Hunters.

The basic pitch seems to be that they are paranormal investigators, and Frank(the boss) appears to have had a near-death experience where he saw someone disturbingly similar to our slender friend. It might be nothing, but they've been referencing Marble Hornets in the last couple of posts, and their tech saw something in the trees on their last job. Again, nothing concrete, but I thought I'd share it on the off-chance that I'd actually stumbled onto a burgeoning Slender-blog. What do y'all think?

Ninja Edit: I'm too stupid to actually include the original link. Of course. http://eyespie.wordpress.com/

Update: Side Story confirmed. The last two posts have been Slender-Man focused. I guess it's not definite or anything, but I'd bet money on it at this point.

Update the 3rd: For the purposes of helping out anyone new joining the fun, the blog link is included up top. For the Twitter,

Dreams In Darkness Link: http://dreamsindarkness91.blogspot.com/

That's what I thought as well, I wasn't really sure until the more recent entries, but from the in-character comments that went up last night I'm going to say this is definitely a Slender Blog.

Edit: Well, it appears whoever's running this show lurks the forums here. On a sidenote, this topic seems to have pushed the wrong buttons with Frank: http://eyespie.wordpress.com/2010/10/06/some-small-updates/

Personally, I'm interested to see if Jason posts anything about this. He looks like the candidate for Slender-Stalking, so it's intriguing to think about what may happen to him while they break from ghost hunting for a bit.

I've been obsessively checking back for video updates, and found this:

http://eyespie.wordpress.com/2010/10/06/im-calling-you-out/

It reads:

"So Frank tells me there's a site for talking about this Slender-Man creature. And apparently, we've been linked to that site as a "Slender Blog."

Well okay. I see this as a good challenge for me. I'm bored this weekend, and we don't have another job until next week, so I'd like to make a bet with you all: I want you to send me little facts about Slender Man. Anything you can think of. I'm going to be watching this series that Jason gave me, as well as everything else I can get my hands on related to this creature. At least once a week, I'm going to take apart another aspect of it so I can show Jason, Matt, and the rest of you how silly you are being for fearing this thing. Oh, and one word of advice? Don't try to scare me off with that "The more you look into it the more He'll hunt you" BS. I'll believe it when I see it, and if I genuinely can't disprove his existence, I'll secede defeat. What do you say? The e-mail is chesirecat23SPLATgmail.com, if you are interested. Science Vs. The Paranormal: May the best man win."

Looks like Jackson might be catching the Slender bug as well.

Update: "I'm changing my purpose here. From some of the e-mails I'm getting, I see that I could cart Slender-Man up to your front door in handcuffs and have him admit to being a hoax, and none of you would buy it. So instead, I'm going to show you why it's irrational to fear him. Disbelief will come soon enough after that."

Maybe his research has got him scared?

I sent an email to them to play along, via my ARG email. We'll see what happens.

Yep, emailed Jackson. He wanted to know what I wanted to see more of in their research, since Slenders hasn't... actively attacked someone on camera. We think.

Interesting. I've yet to see him do anything other than just be generally unsettling as well, though he appears to take a slightly more active role in this Everymanhybrid series, as well as something I stumbled upon called Seeking The Truth. But, one must be careful when making such assumptions, since it can be hard to tell what is real and what is fake.

What intrigues me at the moment are these human antagonists that seem to crop up around him. They exude some sort of possession, or perhaps cult-like obsession? They don't always appear, from what quasi-reliable data I can find, so there must be extenuating factors surrounding them."

EDIT: actually, we're now discussing Masky and violence. I am such a fan of Jackson, he's fun.

Extenuating circumstances?

He's trying to figure out what makes someone susceptible to Slendy's hollowing-out effect and what ends up with them being almost murderous.

I sent Jackson an e-mail about his take on the videos, since he seems convinced that it Slendy isn't real. His response?

Quote:
Wait and see.

...is that a good sign?

I honestly have no idea. His last message to me was:

Quote:
Presuming he's actually legitimate, I'd say this Strahm is probably quite insane. I'm not through his entries yet, but his coarse language and glaring anger issues suggest I'm not going to get much out of him. Jason swears he's got a Slender Man profile up somewhere on that blog, haven't read much into that yet though.

Survived an attack? Well, that is rather unheard of. Isn't she currently enjoying the company of the police, though? Can't say that leads me to trust her word very much.

I'm noting something interesting about these individuals, and that is the volume of backgrounds they seem to come from, and how out of character they seem. If the Masked Man in Marble Hornets is Timothy, or really anyone related to the project, he's more violent than my experience with art students would lead me to believe. Meanwhile, this Conaghan character that Zeke is hunting is billed as a dangerous crime lord and possible rapist, but is very passive about both his arrest and interrogation. Very calm, very collected, even after Mr. Strahm becomes quite violent. Then there's all the ones that could be the person themselves, under some sort of hypnosis. I'm not quite ready to buy that yet, hypnosis can just as easily induce false memories as it can produce alternate personalities. Cultists are looking more and more likely.

sneak edit: Actually, I think you got a good response, GC. He's about to post something new, so you'll get your response soon.

extra edit: new post and yes, you got yourself an answer! he also can't see things in MH? I just confirmed this via email, but Jackson doesn't see Slenderman in the MH videos at all.

Y'alls take on it?

Wow. This is an interesting turn of events. It sounds like he can see the fake Slender-Man in Hybrid's videos, and one instance of Slender Man in TTA's videos that he insists is fake. I'm really not sure what that means Shocked

Edit:"There is a theory that belief in Slender Man triggers his appearance. And you know what? I think they are right. But not because some creature mystically knows exactly when you are thinking about him, like some sort of demonic Santa Claus."

Wow. Just wow. I think someone needs to write "Slender Man is coming to town" now. To the drawing board!

Double Edit all the way cross the post: I think I missed this the first time through, but at the end of the post I think he's insinuating that Strahm is one crazy nutter. I'm putting my money on Strahm's profiling getting some attention at some point.

Yeah, from the emails, he's totally not happy that Strahm is out and about anywhere. I think his wording was a "man without control."

I'm kind of curious to see who else has emailed him. Jackson replies really quickly, to be honest, and he sounds kind of unnerved by the fact he can't even see Slender's tie. The last email/comment he sent regarding the fact he can't see him was the first time I've heard him "sound" really unnerved.

Would it be really d-baggy or game-breaking to link to some screencaps of the videos with slendy highlighted or pointed out? I've got some from TT on my hard drive that I could use.
