Is slendy starting to become a dead horse?

So, it seems like everyday someone is posting a link to a new blog or vlog and I can't help but wonder how long it is before the Slender Man Mythos gets saturated with too many stories doing essentially the same thing.

I was just wondering what you guys think, since I've been toying with the idea of launching my own ARG in the near future (not likely, but anything could happen), but I have this nagging fear that it'll be white noise at that point.

But yeah, does anyone here think there are just too many blogs and vlogs coming out at the moment? Anyone worried that we're going to get saturated with too much stuff? Or will we just natural selection take hold and we just weed out the bad ones?

Not necessarily, your final product just needs to be of a higher quality to push through the shite. I did start the Slender Review for that reason, though that project's kinda fallen by the wayside at the moment, because of other things I've been doing.

I don't think the "too many" is the problem. It's that they are all the same.

I'm crafting my own unique take on the story for my own ARG as we speak. See my recent thread and this thread.

Yes.

To beat the odds: Update regularly. A mediocre Slendy vlog is lightyears ahead of other really promising ones if it can keep people talking with regular updates.

Don't just do "more of the same". We get it, you saw Marble Hornets.

Don't take 5+ videos (and a month) to get to the point. You're wasting our time.

Figure out what your endgame is before you start. If you don't do this it'll show and a) be more of the same and b) wasting our time.

Don't throw pointless clues/symbols/ToTheArk updates at us. Please.

Have fun!

I think it's more of a quality problem than a quantity problem not enough really good Slender Man related ARG's and the few good ones haven't been updated lately or at all really.

Slendy, in the wrong hands, was a dead horse from the start. In the right hands he's got a lot of life in him still.

The basic problem is that there are too many blogs whose plot can be boiled down to "slendy stalks someone, weird shit happens", without any real structure or story or endgame plan beyond that. That's never been satisfying.

*cough*
Don't hurt the poor pony.

IMHO:
Blogs are NOT real ARGs. They are just chaotic fiction.

Sorry, but BORING!

A good ARG has puzzle elements that require a group collective mind to SOLVE to continue the story, to do something for the characters, to make something happen in their lives.

All I see in these are personal recollections or strange videos.

*yawn*

Define what you mean by "ARG" first. Cause there are so many personal preferences about what makes an ARG. Are you asking about which threads in uF have the most traffic? Which stories have the most puzzles? Which games have the most narrative (from the PMs, not from the fans or hijacks)?
